After finishing the preparations for the outing, Seyoung looked at the two people in the living room.
Taecho, holding the child, was pacing around near the window. With one hand, he gently stroked the back of Gyuwon, who had just eaten baby food.
It was amazing to see the child grow.
It seemed like just yesterday when the tiny baby nestled in his belly. Gyuwon, who couldn’t control his neck before, was now flipping over and starting to crawl.
“Gyuwon hasn’t had his haircut yet?”
Approaching Taecho, Seyoung lightly pinched Gyuwon’s soft cheek. The small lips of the baby who saw his mom sputtered.
“Not yet. I’ll do it soon.”
“Meow.”
As soon as the words ended, a cute trimming sound came from Gyuwon’s mouth, which was pressed against Taecho’s shoulder.
When Seyoung opened her eyes wide at that sound, Gyuwon smiled brightly, his small eyes shining.

“Our Gyuwon had a haircut?”
“Meow!”
Gyuwon shouted with his small arms fluttering. The child, resembling Taecho, was adorable even when he laughed.
Seyoung pressed her lips against the round cheek and looked at her husband.
“Should I hold Gyuwon?”
“My wrist hurts. I’ll hold him down. Are you ready?”
“Yes. I’ve prepared everything for Gyuwon. We just need to leave now.”
Today was the day they were going to Taecho’s hometown. The family meal, which Seyoung couldn’t attend for a while due to devoting herself to childcare after Gyuwon was born, was today.
“Give me the bag, and you can hold the car key. It should be in the jacket over there.”
Taecho pointed to the clothes on the sofa. Seyoung rummaged through her pockets and outer pockets and then grinned.

“The key isn’t here.”
“Then, is it in the pants pocket?”
With a glance that suggested she should check, Taecho looked at Seyoung.
“Oh, here it is.”
As Seyoung took out the car key from Taecho’s pants pocket, something unexpected happened.
Smack!
Taecho’s lips touched Seyoung’s cheek and quickly pulled away. She touched her cheek more shyly and blushed.
“What’s this all of a sudden?”
“Gyuwon asked me to do it.”
“Aw!”

As Gyuwon whined, responding to his name, Taecho asked, “Do you want it too?”
Looking at the smiling Gyuwon, Taecho, as if charmed by his son, pressed his lips to the son’s cheek.
“Now let’s go.”
Watching the scene with a pleased smile, Seyoung approached Taecho with the diaper bag.
He reached out to Seyoung, asking her to hand it over. And just as Taecho leaned down to take the bag.
Smack!
“……!”
Seyoung, who had her lips meet her husband’s cheek, hugged his waist.
“Oh my, our puppy is here!”
As they entered the house, Mrs. Ma warmly welcomed Taecho’s family. Of course, among them, the most welcome was Gyuwon, who was in Taecho’s arms.

“Meow!”
When Gyuwon saw Mrs. Ma, he happily wiggled his hands and feet. Although he was a child with not much shyness, thanks to Mrs. Ma, who often took care of him along with the helper ajumma, Gyuwon nestled comfortably in his grandmother’s arms without hesitation.
“Thank you for coming. Seyoung, is there anything wrong with you?”
“No, Mother.”
Mrs. Ma asked Seyoung while patting Gyuwon. Taecho, with a somewhat disappointed expression, directed it towards his mother, who didn’t pay much attention to his son.
“Is your son’s well-being the least of your concerns?”
“I have to worry about my grown-up son too, right? You’ll be fine on your own. What did you feed Gyuwon?”
“He had some baby food before you came.”
“Did you come from the east? Oh, our adorable Gyuwon is here too?”
Yeryeong, who was in the kitchen, came out belatedly and greeted Seyoung. While Mrs. Ma held Gyuwon and made eye contact with Seyoung, she also lightly pressed Gyuwon’s cheek like a soft rice cake.
“You came early. I should have come earlier. Is there anything I can help you with?”

Seyoung apologized with a guilty face, but Yeryeong reassured her and extended her hand.
“Just stay. I didn’t do much. Mother and Mrs. Hong prepared everything. We’ll have a meal together when Father and Mother come later. They’re on their way now.”
“Alright. Taecho, you leave your luggage and come.”
In front of his mother and sister-in-law, Taecho felt completely ignored. He carried Seyoung’s bag and went upstairs. Mrs. Ma headed to the living room with her daughters-in-law.
“Seyoung, do you want something to drink? It’ll take about 20 minutes for them to arrive.”
“No, thank you. Isn’t Gyuwon heavy for you?”
“Did he gain some weight? He seems heavier than last week, but it’s still okay. How about you? Your arms might hurt if you hold him.”
“It’s a bit tiring. That’s why I wear a wrist support every day.”
“But Gyuwon’s features are already distinct. His eyes are big.”
Yeryeong rolled her tongue while looking at Gyuwon. In response, the baby in Mrs. Ma’s arms smiled like an angel.

“What will we do with that angelic smile? I really want to bite those soft cheeks.”
“Is Gyuwon on the gentle side?”
“Yes. Wasn’t I like that when I was young?”
“Taecho? No way. He was a crybaby who couldn’t even speak when he was young.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
