“I’ll keep you standing like this. If I let you go like this today, you’ll come again tomorrow.”
Upon Yeori’s words, Woo-hyun touched his forehead as if tired.
Oh, I wish she would just leave quickly.
Thinking about how to drive O Yeori away, Woo-hyun, seeing people gathering around, whispered to Taejo.
“Hey, it’s better to move somewhere else for now.”
Woo-hyun gestured across the street as if telling him to look there. People who recognized O Yeori were taking pictures with their phones.
“Follow me.”
Reluctantly turning around, Taejo was followed by Yeori. Entering the meeting room on the first floor, he pointed to any empty seat, telling her to sit anywhere.
“Aren’t you even going to offer a drink to the guest? The hospitality is a bit lacking.”
Yeori sat in a chair, crossing her legs. With a gaze suggesting to buy something, Kang Executive pushed a juice that was rolling around the meeting room toward her.

“Quickly get to the point. We don’t have time.”
Leaning against the glass wall, Taejo glanced down at his watch. Yeori, who leisurely picked up the cup, stared at Taejo.
“Why? Is there an urgent appointment?”
“Get to the point.”
As if to say not to talk nonsense, Taejo, who sighed briefly, spoke briefly. The displeased Yeori, after sipping the juice, opened her mouth.
“Did you see the program I’m on? It hasn’t been long since the first episode aired, but there are a lot of articles, and the buzz is quite high. Thanks to that, I’m getting calls from various places. They want to sponsor me, and they want me to promote their brand products on our program.”
“……. ”
“So, I need an agency that will support me.”
Resting her chin on the back of her hand, Yeori smiled brightly. Taejo remained expressionless, and Executive Kang looked incredulous at the shameless O Yeori.
“In other words, you want to join our company?”

“Yeah.”
“Do you think this is some neighborhood store? Just waltzing in like this?”
“I didn’t ask Director Kang, so keep it down a bit.”
“It’s not Director; it’s Executive!”
In the midst of Woo-hyun trying to retort angrily, Taejo stopped him.
“The talent agency.”
After a long silence, Taejo opened his mouth and faced O Yeori.
“It would be better for you to look elsewhere. We’ll do everything even if it’s not our company.”
Did she think he would readily accept her?
O Yeori’s smile, hanging on her lips, disappeared at Taejo’s rejection.
“I like it here. Because oppa is here…”

“You can’t come in just because you want to. It’s not like signing a contract just because you appeared on one entertainment show and gained some recognition.”
“…”
“People with your level of publicity and recognition are abundant in our company. So, if you need someone to manage your schedule, find a personal secretary, or look for another company.”
As if saying there’s no worth considering, Yeori clenched her fist at the words that coldly rejected her. When she tried to leave, Yeori, who stood up urgently, blocked Taejo’s way.
“Is it because of what happened before?”
“…”
“I’m different from back then. How much time has passed? I’m not the reckless O Yeori I used to be.”
Pointing to her present self, O Yeori extended her arms. Taejo sighed as if feeling frustrated.
“It doesn’t matter how much you’ve changed. You’re just not the person our company wants.”
“Is that really the only reason? Are you worried that I might meet Yoon Se-kyung?”

When Se-kyung’s name came out of Yeori’s mouth, Taejo’s expression hardened.
“Taejo oppa is getting married? There was quite a commotion with the articles. But do you know what kind of person she is? When I asked her if she was dating Taejo oppa and if she wanted to get married, she snapped at me to mind my own business.”
“You… did you meet Se-kyung?”
Surprised Woo-hyun intervened. Ignoring his words, Yeori only looked at Taejo.
“Did Yoon Se-kyung not mention meeting me? She even got pregnant. Her belly is showing. When I suggested dating and getting married to Taejo oppa, she refused. Was that the kind of person he liked?”
“O Yeori.”
As if to say stop, an irritated Taejo called her name.
“Or is it that the woman got pregnant, and now they’re getting married? Did she tell Taejo oppa to take responsibility?”
“That’s none of your concern.”
Taejo rubbed his throbbing forehead. Was it that day? She suddenly called me Taejo oppa. For some reason, she didn’t look happy that day.

Sighing deeply, Taejo glared at Yeori.
“Listen well. Whatever you say, I have no intention of getting entangled with you again. Whether it’s personal or public. When you were young and alone, I took care of you, but now you’re old enough not to need someone else’s care.”
“…”
“So don’t come to the company in the future, and don’t even think about meeting Yoon Se-kyung. If you have something you want to do, go talk to your father, not me.”
Looking at Woo-hyun, Taejo tapped his watch. Woo-hyun understood that they would depart for Gangwon-do immediately and nodded his head.
And it was the moment when Taejo, passing by O Yeori, was about to leave the conference room.
“Oppa.”
A somber voice flowed from O Yeori, who was looking down at the floor.
“You can’t do this to me…”
She slowly lifted her head and looked at Taejo. In her eyes, which had turned red with bursting blood vessels, there was resentment toward him.
“You’ll regret sending me away like this.”

Yeori bit her lip tightly. When she tried to approach Taejo again, Woohyun grabbed Yeori’s arm.
Go quickly.
Woohyun, who pouted as if to say that, extended his hand.
Taejo, with a resigned expression, left the conference room, leaving Yeori behind as she stared at him.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
