The Price is Everything of Yours (76 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 71
Isabel suddenly wore a bewildered expression, as if she couldn’t comprehend why she’d been dragged before Valentine. Valentine looked at that detestable face and asked,
“Why are you here so early today?”
“Well, miss… that girl told me to go in right away, so I came in first.”
Isabel, who had been delighted thinking she was let in early for once, now stammered in confusion at the unexpected question. Valentine scoffed.
“It’s not because you had something nasty to tattle like a rat, is it?”
Isabel didn’t immediately understand Valentine’s words. Of course, just like every other day, she had intended to report Neris’s daily activities to Delma. She’d always done so.
Valentine had always enjoyed those reports, so why use such harsh words today?
No one present was kind enough to answer Isabel’s silent question. Valentine twisted her small lips into a cruel sneer.
“You know, it really amuses me how people like you pretend to be righteous or act as if you understand anything at all. What could you possibly know? Do you understand the weight of duty at court? Do you grasp the noble calling of rulership you’re born with?”
“Exactly, miss.”
Delma chimed in as if Isabel’s words were perfectly reasonable. Isabel was startled by the sheer malice in Valentine’s young eyes. What in the world was going on…?
“You’re no different from the dogs kept outside—replaceable. When one dies, you just get another. As long as something occupies that spot, who cares what its name is or what color its fur is? So if a creature like you forgets its place and dares bite its master… it’s not worth sparing.”
Valentine lifted her chin proudly, her sky-blue eyes narrowing with contempt.
Delma gazed at the little girl she’d raised with warm, affectionate eyes. Seeing this, Isabel suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.
Having grown up in a rural village, Isabel had seen plenty of dogs kept outdoors.

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)
A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage
Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”

The male lead being so proud of his wife is honestly adorable, even when he gets jealous.
And the female lead is so elegant and beautiful—I can’t wait to see this scene illustrated
Haha, did the ML really just say that to the FL? He’s so cute when he gets a little jealous.
Can’t wait for next chapter
The ML is so considerate of his wife. He treats her with so much care and gentleness, even when she doesn’t say a word—he just understands her. He’s honestly so perfect, I can’t 😭
I really hope the FL can overcome these painful feelings soon. I can’t bear to watch her suffer this much. 💔
