The Price is Everything of Yours (76 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 62
The white pavilion by the lakeside was, of course, the very one students often used during etiquette lessons.
Bathed crimson by the sunset, the pavilion was tranquil and beautiful, as no other students were around.
The last summer rose, barely clinging to its stem, drooped its head like a painted scene. From the surrounding bushes came the first chirps of autumn insects, having grown swiftly with the season.
Valentine was seated leaning against the railing on one side of the pavilion. Her reserved expression brightened as she saw Neris approaching.
“Sister!”
“Valentine.”
Neris called her name as naturally as she had that day long ago. Not a trace of hatred showed—after all, revealing such feelings now would do her no good.
“You actually came.”
Valentine gracefully stepped down from the pavilion, holding her skirt, and beamed at Neris. Neris smiled back.
“I had to come, since you asked to meet.”
“I was worried you might be angry at my rudeness earlier and refuse to come.”
Neris gave a faint, almost dismissive smile at that coquettish tone. What an odd thought for her to have.
“Nonsense. You’re still young—you might’ve just acted the way you do at home.”
That remark clearly implied that if Valentine behaved so poorly at home, no wonder she acted the same way outside.
Valentine, who wasn’t usually slow to catch such hints, briefly stiffened before relaxing again. She wrapped her arms around Neris’s right arm and spoke sweetly.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

The male lead being so proud of his wife is honestly adorable, even when he gets jealous.
And the female lead is so elegant and beautiful—I can’t wait to see this scene illustrated
Haha, did the ML really just say that to the FL? He’s so cute when he gets a little jealous.
Can’t wait for next chapter
The ML is so considerate of his wife. He treats her with so much care and gentleness, even when she doesn’t say a word—he just understands her. He’s honestly so perfect, I can’t 😭
I really hope the FL can overcome these painful feelings soon. I can’t bear to watch her suffer this much. 💔
