The Price is Everything of Yours (76 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 46
They’re fighting among themselves. Diane snorted and spoke gently to Neris.
“The scent of flowers is lovely. I wonder who picked them?”
“I heard Sir Sheridan picked them with some senior girls. In return, those girls promised to help when Sir Sheridan hosts literary salons with the noblewomen he knows well.”
Neris replied gracefully. This time, Alecto’s face twisted in displeasure.
What Neris had just mentioned was the so-called “Sheridan Circle.”
Every year, Sir Sheridan introduced his protégées to the highest-ranking noblewomen in society, and since those very noblewomen had once been his students themselves, they took good care of the newly introduced girls. Though it was phrased as assisting with salons, it was in truth a venue for building social connections.
Alecto had heard that her older sister had desperately wanted to join the Sheridan Circle but had given up because only the top one or two students from the senior social etiquette class were ever invited. And yet, someone like Neris Trude had access to news from that circle?
If Sir Sheridan had no intention of recruiting Neris into his circle, why would he have shared his future plans with her at all!
“Really? Then it would’ve been nice if you’d gone along too. I’m curious about those things.”
Understanding the implication perfectly, Diane gently steered the conversation so Alecto, Rianon, and the ever-quiet Angharad could hear. Neris, as always, responded kindly in turn.
“That would’ve been a great honor for me, but as you know, I’m still too young. I’m clumsy to begin with, and I couldn’t possibly attend an official salon anyway.”
“Yes, that’s true.”
Diane glanced at Alecto, Rianon, and the still-silent Angharad with a look that clearly said, “You heard that, right?” Alecto turned her head away with a sour expression, while Rianon’s hand trembled intermittently.
Having guided the discussion from the safest topic—flower arrangements—to the very flowers symbolizing each noble house, Sir Sheridan clapped his hands.
“As you all know, midterms are in two weeks. So, next weekend, we’ll hold a rehearsal exam. It won’t replace a class, so attendance isn’t mandatory, but I’ll be answering questions about the test during that time. Many of your seniors used that session well and achieved excellent results, so I recommend coming if your schedule allows.”

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)
A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage
Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”

The male lead being so proud of his wife is honestly adorable, even when he gets jealous.
And the female lead is so elegant and beautiful—I can’t wait to see this scene illustrated
Haha, did the ML really just say that to the FL? He’s so cute when he gets a little jealous.
Can’t wait for next chapter
The ML is so considerate of his wife. He treats her with so much care and gentleness, even when she doesn’t say a word—he just understands her. He’s honestly so perfect, I can’t 😭
I really hope the FL can overcome these painful feelings soon. I can’t bear to watch her suffer this much. 💔
