“There’s no special meaning, just admiration. I’ve heard praise that you’re smart too. Dianne sure knows how to judge people.”

With that, Neris covered her mouth and laughed.

Heder’s face turned red. Dianne blinked her eyes, looking back and forth between Neris and Heder. A moment later, Heder began to cry.

“I, Miss…… I’m sorry. I don’t know what I did wrong, but…….”

“Wrong? It’s just admiration.”

There weren’t many people at the party who didn’t know Heder. Even if they didn’t know her before attending the party, they would recognize her face now as she had been accompanying Muriel, a lady cousin of the hosting family, all the time.

When Heder cried and wet her cheek in front of Dianne, attention was drawn to her, as much as earlier. No, more eyes gathered as she had already been the focus.

“Why are you crying all of a sudden?”

“Must be crazy.” Dianne asked, dumbfounded. Neris quickly signaled her not to say more.

“No, Miss!”

A man pushed through the crowd and approached. Although the top of his head was shiny and bald, the remaining hair was neatly tied, and he was a middleaged man dressed in elegant clothes.

He approached Heder and cradled her hand in his.

“Miss, why are you crying? What’s the matter?”

Neris recognized him, looking about twelve years younger than in her memory.

Angelo Reiling. His real name was Angelo Rileyniro, a man who changed his surname to Vista style when he came to Vista in his youth and started a business.

A person who did not hesitate to use any means to achieve his goal and ate those who helped and trusted him out of greed.

There was no sense of loyalty or fairness in Angelo’s heart, only cunning. He had devoured those who had helped him out of goodwill and grown him with trust.

If he sought to maintain a close relationship with the MacKinnon family at this time, there was only one reason.

His next target was the MacKinnon’s upper echelon.

Neris knew that if she prodded Heder like this, Angelo would appear. He cherished his only daughter very much. Neris watched with interest what Heder would respond to her father.

“Father, it’s nothing……. Just that I’m being silly…….”

Heder trembled her shoulders but quickly wiped away her tears and tried to smile gracefully.

Dianne’s mouth gaped open, shivering with chills. Neris observed Heder, smiling.
As Neris had suspected, Heder was looking at her with contempt. She had already built an image among people that she was a naive child who was taken advantage of, and Neris had judged that she had been marked as a bad influence on Diane.

So, she must have thought that with a slight push, she could prevent Neris from ever setting foot in the McKinnon household again.

Unfortunately for her, Neris had long experience dealing with someone who acted like Heder but at a much higher level. Compared to the adult Megara who had completely drained the prince’s soul, Heder was still a novice at controlling her emotions.

“I praised her, so I praised her back, and she suddenly started crying. Maybe some dust got in her eye? Don’t just hold your hand, look closely at her eye.”

The people who had just arrived and saw Heder smiling and saying she was fine lost interest in the situation when they heard Neris’s words.

Heder, not at all flustered by Neris’s calm face, had no choice but to agree.

If Neris or Diane had exaggerated the situation by asking ‘What did I say to make her do that?’ she could have become the victim right there, but that was immediately blocked. And if she were to complain now, her image of being pure and kind would be ruined.

She was quite uncomfortable and winked at her father right below the handkerchief wiping her tears.

The bewildered Angelo immediately shouted in a loud voice.

“No, child. Who cries like this just because dust got in their eye? If something’s wrong, tell me. Your father will solve it!”

As the attention of the party was focused in one place, finally the Count and Countess of McKinnon pushed through the crowd and approached. The Countess of McKinnon was startled to see her daughter sitting at the center of attention and asked,

“Dee, what’s going on? Did you fight with Heder?”

The power imbalance was clear if the daughter of Count McKinnon and the daughter of a foreign merchant had ‘fought’. People were looking at Diane strangely, and Neris clicked her tongue inwardly. She also briefly saw Joan Morie peeking this way.

“No. Neris was praising Heder and she suddenly cried. Her eyes must hurt.”

Diane did not understand her best friend’s behavior but trusted her. As Diane repeated what Neris had said earlier, the Count and Countess of McKinnon looked relieved with complete trust.

They thought their daughter was not a child who would lie about such things. And in fact, it was not a lie.

Angelo also quickly noticed the reaction of the Count and Countess.

He also knew his child. Heder wouldn’t be so aggrieved to cry in front of simple Diane, let alone someone else.

“Heder is kind enough to tell Diane to rest when she fell while dancing earlier. Poor thing.”

“Dee, did you fall?”

Countess McKinnon was surprised by Neris’s words and opened her eyes wide. They were adorable eyes that looked just like Diane’s. Diane lifted her chin.

“I just made a mistake. I’m not hurt.”

“I was dancing with Nuallan oppa and I fell while turning. But Diane didn’t cry, so she’s mature.”

Everyone’s attention quickly shifted to Diane.

Heder’s face turned bright red with anger and embarrassment. She had never been so brazenly dismissed.

Dust in her eyes? She knew it wasn’t true, yet she dared to say it!

Count and Countess McKinnon decided to take Diane inside the building to see if her knee was hurt. Neris said she would follow and got up from the bench.

She left a light word for Heder, who didn’t know what to do because of her awkward position.

“Let’s take a closer look later.”

It was clear to both Heder and Angelo that she didn’t mean to look at her eye closely.

As Neris’s figure disappeared, Angelo quietly asked his daughter,

“What’s going on?”

Since people around them had dispersed back onto the road, Heder revealed her furious face and hissed.
“That girl is acting so unlucky. Not even real nobility at that! She’s bragging that she and Muriel can’t be friends because of her status, but it’s really disgusting.”

“Hush, lower your voice.”

Angelo was taken aback and cautioned Heather. Heather was somewhat welcomed in the social gatherings of this area because she had built a good image in the Mackinnon family. It would have been difficult going forward if she lost that.

Heather shut her mouth and glared at the spot where Neris had disappeared. Joanne Morie was watching that from afar.

Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation

One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:

To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.

But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.

It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.

This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.

Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.

Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.

“Let’s divorce!”

***

Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.

Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?

But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.

Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.

Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.

In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.

Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”

Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.

He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”

***

Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.

But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.

“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”

Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?

Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?
