“Is Liannon Berta in this class?”
With her ginger hair strewn about, Natasha Grunehals was famous in many ways, so the children looked at Liannon without doubt as she peered into the freshman classroom.
Liannon was taken aback. She couldn’t figure out why a student council member was looking for her.
Natasha looked at Liannon and smiled. Liannon felt overwhelmed as she got up, her face being too pretty and full of confidence. Natasha laughed as Liannon approached hesitantly.
“Why are you so nervous? You sent the letter.”
A letter? Liannon blinked blankly, not knowing what she meant. Natasha waved a letter so the whole class could see.
“You sent this, right?”
“No? That’s not me.”
Why would she send a letter to Natasha? Plus, the letter that Natasha showed was unfamiliar to Liannon, so she shook her head. Natasha frowned.
“You’re not ‘Nona,’ are you?”
There was no one else in the class with that nickname. The closer Liannon looked at Natasha, the more she felt oddly intimidated and answered in a crawling voice.
“I am …”
“Then you’re the only freshman Nona here besides you.”
To Liannon, Natasha seemed displeased. How dare she defy the young lady of the duke’s family, and the notoriously grumpy Natasha? Terrified Liannon only rolled her eyes.
Liannon’s guess was right. Natasha, offended, read the letter loudly with a slightly raised voice.
Her only command was to bring Liannon to the student council. However, it was fine to admit it a little roughly, even if a child cleverly caught it.
Is remorse not the beginning of reflection?
“To the coolest and kindest Nellusion Elandria. Hello? I want to be friends with you, Nellusion. On the first day of class, you kindly and thoughtfully told us about the upcoming exam. I can’t forget the appearance of Nellusion then. I am still young, but I will grow up soon …”
The entire class focused on Natasha’s voice. Megara frowned, Alecto burst into laughter, and Idalia turned pale.
Liannon Berta wrote that content? Normally so modest?
With her face turning red from the embarrassing content, Liannon shook her head vigorously.
“It’s not a letter I sent. This is the first time I’ve heard this content.”
“You’re Nona, aren’t you?”
“But I never wrote such a letter.”
“Your signature is on it, right? Kids, can anyone here confirm this? Who’s friends with her?”
As Natasha looked around the classroom menacingly, Idalia stood up immediately. Megara tried to stop Idalia, but now everyone’s eyes were on Idalia.
Normally scared of such attention, Idalia surprisingly spoke brusquely.
“I’m friends. I know Liannon’s handwriting.”
“Really? Then you look.”
Judging by the content and spelling level of the letter, the owner was a freshman. The student council was sure of that. But the signature could be forged, so a handwriting check was needed.
Natasha handed the letter to Idalia. Liannon looked at Idalia, proclaiming her innocence with her whole body.
Idalia’s face turned red and pale as she read the letter. After reading the last signature, she spoke in a voice suppressing something.
“It’s Liannon’s handwriting.”
“Hey!”
Liannon was incredulous. Natasha watched with crossed arms as the two freshmen did their thing.
“It’s not me!”
“You look yourself. Who wrote this if not you?”
Idalia showed Liannon the signature at the bottom of the letter. Liannon opened her mouth wide, seeing the signature ‘Nona’ written in familiar handwriting. Her face turned bright red with shame and anger.
“That’s ridiculous!”
“This misspelled word here, it’s the part you usually got wrong too. You liar!”
The children had never seen Idalia so angry before.
Lianon was in confusion. The letter was certainly in her own handwriting, not only the signature but also the content. However, she had never written such a preposterous letter.
A letter to Nellusion? How could she dare to send such a bold letter to someone of such high status and popularity?
“Look, the dot here is similar, but my handwriting is worse……”
“Enough, I’m a busy person, children.”
Natasha intervened, clapping her hands as she saw that the fight between them would drag on.
Mega’s thought was occupied by the sight of Idalia, who unknowingly crumpled the letter. It was strange that the small Lianon sent a letter to a man she wasn’t even close to.
However, Idalia had such conviction. The handwriting and spelling all matched with Lianon’s.
“Come with me for now, Lianon. Nellusion ‘sir’ has something to ask you.”
Lianon was so embarrassed and disconcerted that she felt like dying, but she couldn’t refuse the student council’s summoning. Neris watched her reluctant departure with inexplicable pleasure.
Neris knew why even Natasha had come to fetch Lianon.
If Nellusion had materials that needed to be hidden from Abellus’s eyes, he usually placed them in a secret drawer on one side of his desk in the student council room. Neris knew because she had secretly dealt with documents left from Nellusion’s school days after she was adopted by the Elandria family.
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
