“Sure, anytime. About the classes? This semester, why not take Political Science and Cultural Understanding with me, Velen?”

The dazzling sacred power quickly permeated through Claudewin’s body as Ren applied it. Claudewin’s complexion improved from before. Neris quietly nodded as she sat next to Claudewin.

“Yes.”

“It’s nice to take the same class this year. I hope there won’t be any of Mahradhi’s brats.”

“There won’t be. Voltair said that all classes are conducted in Velenian, and if the grades are low, they won’t be admitted, right?”

When registering for classes at the end of last semester, Voltair clearly stated this. Ren and Neris, who took the same class throughout the previous year, knew well the level of Mahradhi’s Velenian proficiency.

It was at least a skill that could hold one’s own in everyday conversations. However, it was not sufficient for taking a political science class conducted solely in Velenian.

Ren raised the sacred power in his hand again, making it creak.

“It was boring to take the same class as that brat. I won’t have to see them anymore now.”

Ren was close to graduation, and since he had taken many theology major classes, it was natural. Neris, who still had a few years left at school with Mahradhi, felt a little envious of Ren.

The light of the sacred power, which improved one’s mood just by looking at it, continued to flow into Claudewin’s body.

And at some point, when the speed of the light seeping in slowed down, Ren let go of his hand. It was before the time for a cup of tea.

Thinking the work was done, Neris excused herself to drink water. As soon as she disappeared, Ren spoke gruffly.

“Enough. Don’t use the kid as a shield next time.”

“Thank you.”

Claudewin touched the area around his injured waist and nodded.

It was indeed a swift treatment. The area that had been feverish and sore just a moment ago felt so good that it seemed like a dream. There was no pain even when he pressed firmly on his waist.

“And you.”

Watching the scene in silence, Ren said with a harsh glare, quite different from his attitude in front of Neris.

“If you have a conscience, stay away from that kid. Do you have any idea how dangerous your situation is?”

“What do you mean?”

Claudewin’s gaze also became menacing.

“Just what I said. Neris is too fragile, and there’s no one to protect her. Although Neleusion pretends to take care of her, he won’t really be of any help to her. So, the less noticeable, the better. Don’t ruin the peaceful daily life of that kid like you.”

Ren realized that Claudewin was more worried about Neris than he initially thought. If he considered it, he seemed to think of her almost like a younger sister.

But what right did Ren Fayell have to meddle in the affairs between Claudewin and Neris? Does he even think he’s really her big brother?

Moreover, fragile heart? Claudewin scoffed.

He also thought Neris had a fragile heart.

But that was his conclusion after seeing her seemingly strong appearances and, more decisively, after seeing what choice she made in critical moments.

What is Ren saying about Claudewin? It’s nothing more than a relationship that could be easily broken, just a connection that she accidentally spilled.

Ren’s eyes sank dangerously.

“…Right now, it seems like you’re thinking of something annoying.”

Although he looked like an innocent boy, Ren had a good sense. Claudewin raised an eyebrow.

“As if. Anyway, I have something to do with her, and she has something to do with me. It’s none of your business, senpai.”

“You damned kid, I didn’t like you from the beginning.”

Ren quickly realized that Claudewin wouldn’t let go and grumbled.

Claudewin thought the same was true of Ren. Since Ren believed that he would be helpful to Neris, he just stayed silent.
In fact, in terms of abilities, Ren was a remarkable talent. Until last year, he seemed to waste time due to his nature, but since meeting Neris, he had expelled his bad habits and kept a helpful person by his side, increasing the likelihood of surviving for at least a few more years.

So, if it were another time, they might have considered recruiting him.

However, for some reason, Claudewin didn’t like the idea. Was it his instinct judging that Ren wasn’t the type to be under someone’s authority? Anyway… what should he say? Instinctively, he felt…

Perhaps it could be described as unfortunate.

It wasn’t a phrase Claudewin often used, but for some reason, it seemed most fitting for the inexplicable emotions he was feeling right now. So, he decided to continue using that expression for now.

Until he could think of a better expression, Ren was destined to be an unlucky person.

Returning to the reception room, Neris, seeing Claudewin’s improved complexion, thanked Ren.

“Thank you so much, senpai. This person will definitely pay the price.”

“What price? It’s your request.”

He said that, but Ren shot Claudewin a glance, questioning if he would just let it slide. Claudewin also naturally thought of paying a price.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
