“Where did you hear the news that there was a thief last night?”

Megara, surrounded by all the student council members, was about to explode.

She couldn’t understand how it had come to this. It was just a light trap set to expose Neris Truedd.

However, ironically, that annoying Neris slipped away, and now the daughter of Lord Lycantheiros was being interrogated in the student council room for a trivial reason. Did that make any sense?

“Haven’t you heard? I heard the news about the thief. Where did you hear that?”

When Megara didn’t immediately answer a student council member’s question, Natasha asked coldly.

Megara tried to remain calm as she spoke.

“One of my servants happened to be friends with a servant who cleans the teacher’s office. As soon as this morning arrived, he heard the news. It’s not a trivial matter. Perhaps some of my innocent friends might be in trouble, and we don’t know what the culprit might do, so I thought I should inform everyone in a hurry. But if you put it that way, it hurts me.”

Natasha found Megara’s words amusing. Who was she to dare to inform the student council?

Considering the prestige of Lord Lycantheiros, Megara might eventually join the student council in a few years, but at least for now, she was just a small first-year.

‘Because she’s of high status, huh?’

The words the child said last night about her sleep troubled Natasha’s mind.

It was a ridiculous notion. A nobleman’s daughter like her!

However, Megara’s actions had been irksome from the beginning.

Yes, Natasha was never picking on the kid for no reason. Just… if there was an ignorant aristocratic girl, she had to teach her. That was her duty as a senior, and as the daughter of a duke, she had a superior position.

So she pointed out Megara’s flaw that others hadn’t noticed.

“What bad deeds? How did you know that the test papers were missing? The servant who found the office lock open reported it directly to Sherdon Kye, the janitor. He didn’t know what was missing.”

Abelus’s eyebrows twitched. Nellusyon smiled inwardly.

Both men had known from the beginning that Megara’s behavior was strange.

Certainly, as Megara said, it was not impossible for the high-ranking nobles’ servants to quickly know the news within the school.

But even so, the timing of rushing in with the suspect’s name was too perfect.

So far, looking at Lord Lycantheiros’s face and considering that the child wouldn’t have done such a daring act as stealing the test papers to frame someone else for a crime, Abelus hadn’t pointed out that fact.

Megara could gain absolute support among her peers, but she had never had the experience of perfectly hiding her true feelings in front of much more experienced seniors.

Natasha and Nellusyon didn’t miss the momentary confusion on her face.

Disappointment flashed in Abelus’s eyes.

He didn’t mind subtle conspiracies. No, he might even like them. However, he disliked fools who easily got caught.

What use was there in that? Megara, feeling the creeping chill from the atmosphere around her, spoke with a charming face. Trying to convey that she realized she was too hasty. She clenched her fist unnoticed.

“Um, if you were going to steal it from the teacher’s office, it’s obvious. Especially at this time, we can’t just go to the teacher to ask questions! Of course, there must have been test papers in the office. Isn’t it possible that Neris stole them?”

Nellusyon smiled a bit more intensely inwardly.

Megara’s words had no logical flaws. However, they were in stark contrast to what Neris had said earlier.

‘That evaluation material’ and ‘test papers’… weren’t they entirely different in terms of specificity?
Idalia continued to stand beside Megara, unsure of what to do. Her face grew paler by the moment.

Contrary to Megara’s previous words, where she had somewhat ordered Simon to lend her support last night, things were unfolding differently. Despite Neris’s assurance that, if evidence was found, expulsion would be swift, who would have expected that damn evidence to disappear so quickly?

With that thought, Idalia opened her mouth. She felt that she had to, or there would be no escaping this terrible situation.

“Neris… it’s strange for her to always be the top. She has never made a mistake on a test… Even if there are no test papers in Neris’s room, she’s really good at memorization… Could it be that she memorized all the questions and discarded the test paper?”

You fool. Megara cursed Idalia inwardly. She went too far. Anyone could see that she was making excuses like someone who felt guilty!

With that, Abelus, Natasha, and Nellusyon almost guessed the situation.

Nellusyon was dismayed that innocent and kind Neris might have to endure until he could fully use her.

Even though Neris quietly attended school, how many people were already trying to pin some strange charge on her?

Natasha chuckled.
