“Madam Anette, I apologize for the inconvenience last night, as I was unaware of your preferences. Your room has been reprepared, so from tonight, you may officially stay in the Grand Duke’s room.”

Last night’s incident seemed to have upset Lady Egliette, as an older maid, instead of Lady Egliette, showed me to the room tonight.

Instead of the vibrant and lavish Southern style, the room was arranged in a quiet, orderly Northern style. “Was this room also decorated by Lady Egliette?”

“Yes, did Lady Egliette also hang that painting?”

Darius was in my room, even though it wasn’t the once-a-week visit he had requested.

“Yes, she said that bright flowers suit a newlywed’s room.”

“To use Anne-Marie flowers… Take down that painting.”

Seeing Darius’s discomfort, the maid hurriedly removed the painting and left.

“What’s wrong with the painting? It looks pretty to me.”

“The flower is beautiful, but it’s considered ominous for a couple desiring children, as it doesn’t bear fruit.”

Ah, it’s like Queen Seondeok and the peony in our country.

“It’s strange that Lady Egliette made such a mistake. Or perhaps she didn’t know the meaning, being childless herself.”

‘If it’s the latter, that’s even more frightening. Someone who constantly talks about an heir, but actually wishes I, too, remain childless.’

Regardless, I briskly arranged pillows on the bed.

“Anette?”

“Sharing a bed with someone else for the first time feels uncomfortable to me. I think it’s better to divide the bed into areas.”

The bed is so wide, why must we sleep so close together?

“I’ve divided it favorably for you, Grand Duke, given your height. It’s a bit unfair for me, but I’ll endure it.”

Hopefully, this arrangement prevents us from ending up stuck together in the morning!

“Goodnight, Grand Duke.”

I quickly pulled the blanket over my head and closed my eyes, but then felt an arm stealthily sliding over my body.

“Grand Duke!”

Darius looked bewildered.

“The water bottle is on your side.”

“Drinking water before bed means a trip to the bathroom at night.”

I reluctantly handed him the bottle, annoyed.

“Are we done now?”

“What if you get thirsty in the night?”

“I don’t get thirsty. From tomorrow, I’ll put water bottles on both sides of the bed, so there’s no need to move around.”

“What if someone knocks over the bottle while sleeping?”

“Are you going to do that?”

“No. But there’s no guarantee someone else won’t.”

We glared at each other, obstinately.

“Stop being childish over water.”

I protested, clutching the pillow as if it were my life. I couldn’t risk another morning disaster.

“I just want to be clear. I don’t want to hear that it’s not my fault for ending up embracing you in the morning because of the pillow barrier.”

“I really didn’t do it! How many times do I have to say it!”

In a burst of anger, I hurled a pillow at him, which Darius caught with an impressive reflex.

He smirked.

“This pillow is now mine.”

Who described this man as a serious and lonely Grand Duke of the North?

“Ridiculous!”

Grabbing whatever pillows I could, I began hitting him, and Darius quickly fought back with his own pillow.

What? The powerful male protagonist attacking a frail extra like me? Where’s the decency in this land?

“Just get hit once, will you!”

Though not intended for this purpose, the bed became a battleground for a midnight pillow fight. Feathers from a torn pillow fluttered around like snow, which, if one forgot the context, looked quite romantic.

Exhausted, I finally dropped my pillow and collapsed into Darius’s arms. It was an accident.
With two adults toppling over, the bed swayed significantly.

“Haah, ha…”

“…”

I expected Darius to tease me for losing, but for some reason, he remained silent this time.

‘I’m too drained to think of anything.’

I didn’t even bother to feel how firm the male protagonist’s abs were as I collapsed against his chest.

“You said it was uncomfortable to share a bed with someone.”

“What?”

He gently embraced me. Had I had any energy left, I would have resisted the firm body of the male protagonist pressing against me.

“It seems you were the one clinging to me in the morning after all.”

What an unjust accusation!

Darius, with an unexplained sense of superiority, smiled and pushed me away. Ugh, annoying.

“Anette.”

As I regained my composure and prepared to sleep separately from Darius, he called me earnestly.

“Since you expended your energy before bedtime, don’t come over tonight. I’m scared to wake up in the morning.”

“Yikes!”

You seem eager for a second round of pillow fight. Alright then, I’ll burn with fury.

Forgetting my dignity, I grabbed a pillow by the end and hit Darius with it, but he curled up in the bed sheets, laughing despite being hit.

“Anette, did you sleep well?”

“Yes.”

You’re the only one who slept well.

Hiding my dissatisfaction, I casually replied. Darius, sounding puzzled, asked:

“Your eyes are so red…”

I quickly rubbed my eyes.

“It’s just morning dryness.”

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
