Arshama, having confirmed that everyone had witnessed him kill Lilith, carelessly tossed aside his sword. Margarita, instantly recognizing the blade infused with holy power, widened her eyes in astonishment at Arshama’s action.

Regardless, Arshama burst into unrestrained laughter.

Arshama cracked open his closed eyes. Unlike before, when he’d basked in bright sunlight, Anette now stood before him with her back to the sun, casting a dark shadow over him.

“I heard the Grand Duke Inkheart was killed by the resurrected Demon King.”

To her, whether this one or that one—it was all just news of Darius’s death.

“He’ll be resurrected. I’ll kill the Demon King and fulfill my duty.”

As Anette tried to walk past, Arshama grabbed her arm.
