Ruela had just made a rather serious statement, yet Hazen and Raphael were completely absorbed in fiddling with squishy, rubber-like objects, marveling at them regardless of their original form.

Kite, who had been watching them blankly, turned his gaze back to Ruela and asked a rather sharp question.

“Didn’t you say earlier you’d get flour from Emma? What about that?”

Indeed, Kite was different. He hadn’t forgotten what Ruela had said earlier and was now questioning the discrepancy.

“It depends on whether or not the item becomes a material required for my skills once I put it in my bag. Right now, I can’t make anything with a teacup, so when I take it back out, it ends up in that state.”

“Well, that’s still fortunate. We might get tired of eating the same food, but at least we won’t starve.”

Mitchell’s remark earned Kite’s agreement.

“Right. This is incredibly helpful. The Kuran royal family hasn’t attacked yet because they’re still considering room for trade negotiations, but we never know when they might change their mind.”

Raphael nodded as well.

“Yes. Blocking our food supplies at the harbor under the guise of quarantine clearly shows they’re ready to attack us anytime they decide to.”

Hazen clenched his fist in frustration.

“Do they think we’ll surrender if we run short on food?”

“Maybe that’s exactly what they’re thinking? After all, we can’t use hunting grounds or buy provisions from the market right now.”

Raphael cleared the table as he spoke.

“So they expect us to starve to death eating only bread?”
