“Mitchell and I lost rock-paper-scissors, so we have to sit inside. Move over!”

Hazen, pouting heavily, pushed Kite—who had been sitting across from Ruela—further inward as he spoke.

Through the open coachman’s window, Raphael gripping the reins and Tien waving from the passenger seat were visible.

Kite moved to sit beside Ruela, frowning.

“Why does the one who loses rock-paper-scissors have to sit inside?”

“Because you’ll have to listen to your nagging the whole way.”

Kite glanced at Mitchell, who was sitting beside Hazen. His expression seemed unchanged, but his eyebrows were slightly furrowed.

At the sight of those two, Kite’s lips twisted faintly. He crossed his arms over his chest and scoffed.

“I was going to drive the carriage, but since you all hate that so much, I guess I’ll just sit inside and finish our earlier discussion about our affairs.”

At Kite’s words, Hazen covered his ears as if repulsed and closed his eyes.

“I’m going to sleep until we reach our destination. You can tell that stuff to Mitchell instead.”

“Oh, I’ve got a lot of documents to sort through. Just because I’m here doesn’t mean the business of the Leor Duchy disappears.”

According to what Kite had said, his friends held various official positions in Leor.

If Mitchell’s statement was true, then Hazen, as Kite’s official aide, should logically be even busier than Mitchell. Seeing Ruela tilt her head in confusion, Mitchell continued, glaring fiercely at Hazen.

“Because Hazen Erme, aide to His Grace the Archduke, isn’t doing any work at all, all the tasks have fallen onto me.”
