Contrary to their worries about what to do if Baron Gart didn’t know how to accept the party invitation, he managed to accept it perfectly well on his own.

Just as they were about to go check on him themselves due to the prolonged lack of response, an alert chimed, confirming that Baron Gart had accepted the party invitation, and his name appeared on the screen.

To the bewildered group, Ruela sent a brief explanation through the chat window, pretending this had been her original intention all along, and said she’d contact them once she figured out the method—then disbanded the party.

With the matter she’d been concerned about now resolved, Ruela spoke to Kite.

“Baron Gart seems firmly on our side. Now that our most pressing question is answered, let’s rest for a bit first. It’d be too much to move out immediately.”

Kite, who had been frowning with eagerness to head straight to the royal palace archives, immediately nodded upon noticing Ruela’s pale complexion.

He realized that while they themselves were used to moving around on just catnaps, Ruela was not.

As Ruela stepped through the front door Kite had opened for her, she added,

“After all, we’re only planning to sneak into the archives and take the book. We’re not confronting Duke Kuran himself, so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about.”
