“I anticipated some issues, but is it so bad that you’d describe it as the worst-case scenario?”
Observing Kite nodding silently, Ruelra opened the game screen and started reconfiguring the defense system, beginning with the zones of the shelter system. Currently, only the mansion was included in the shelter system, but now she expanded it to cover the entire estate. Afterward, she started brewing potions.
Seeing her busy drawing something in the air, Tucker expressed curiosity, but the others immediately assumed a defensive posture instead of offering an explanation.
“First, I’ll send the people in the mansion down to the underground shelter.”
Following Mitchell’s words, Tendo stood up and said, “I’ll go too.”
Watching the two leave the office, Kite spoke, “Tucker, thanks for coming to inform us. Thanks to you, we have time to prepare.”
“No, it’s not a big deal. It’s my fault.”
Kite raised his head at Tucker’s embarrassed face.
“Why would it be your fault? The problem is that Hagen and Raphael raised suspicion from Viscount Gart.”
Kite gazed out of the office window for a moment as if contemplating something before speaking.
“I’d like to tell you to go back immediately, but I’m unsure how that investigator returned to Kuran, and it’s uneasy to send you out without knowing the situation. So, sorry, but it seems you’ll have to stay here until this matter is resolved.”
“Since I came with permission from the Empress Dowager, staying here shouldn’t be a problem. However, I feel sorry for causing trouble.”
In response to Tucker’s repeated apologies, Ruelra gently comforted him, saying, “It was bound to happen. So don’t worry about it.”
“Tucker, since you’ll be staying here for a while, I’ll introduce you to the people in the mansion. Also, let’s take a look at the underground shelter. It should put your mind at ease.”
As Raphael took Tucker outside, Hagen opened his screen and said, “If we capture one more high-level demon, everyone except Ruelra should reach level 95. Too bad.”
Kite stood up, examined the desk, and replied, “Let’s try to prevent that as much as possible. You moved all the important documents, right? The first floor will probably suffer the most damage.”
“I moved everything from the third floor to the underground, just in case. I also moved the safe down there.”
“Now let’s go outside and assess the situation.”
Following Kite’s instructions, they stepped outside the office, finding the inside of the mansion surprisingly calm. Due to prior preparations for enemy attacks, everyone was quietly moving according to the previously planned strategy.
“It’s fortunate that Cozette and the dressing room staff aren’t here.”
Since participation in the party was less than expected, Ruelra sent Cozette and the staff back to Elab. However, before leaving, Cozette, considering the possibility of needing clothes in the future, prepared several dresses and brought them down to the basement with Meg.
“Shuna, just leave the dresses. Collect only the expensive ones.”
“Dresses are expensive too. Don’t worry; you just need to go up one more time.”
Leaving the servants behind, Ruelra and Hagen went up the stairs again to the potion room, ignoring the attendants moving the owners’ clothes and valuables to the basement. Kite, watching over the servants, remained behind.
The potions were already moved to the basement, and since the herbs were processed into potions, the potion room only had disguise tools left. After confirming that Hagen was gathering the disguise tools, Ruelra asked Emma, who was carrying something from the kitchen and leaving the dining room, “Emma, have you seen Gumsaek-i?”
“I followed Lady Tien, who came to inform us to move to the shelter earlier.”
Upon Emma’s words, Ruelra opened her screen and messaged Tien through the party chat.
[/party Tien, are you carrying Gumsaek-i?] [/party No. Isn’t it upstairs?] [/party She said she followed you out of the kitchen.] [/party It’s not in the basement.]Confused by Tien’s response, Ruelra started looking for Gumsaek-i.
However, the entire household was busy coming and going. Amid the chaos, Gumsaek-i was nowhere to be found.
Anxious, Ruelra called out Gumsaek-i’s name loudly and then had a sudden thought. In the game, if you registered a pet with a command, you could control it through the screen. She wondered if that function was still valid.
Hastily opening the screen, Ruelra entered a command in the chat window.
Disappointed after a moment of no response, Ruelra was pleasantly surprised when Gumsaek-i’s name appeared next to her name in the party window, and the creature’s status window was activated.
“Huh? Ruelra, isn’t this strange?”
Just as Kite, who was putting on armor, called out, raising an eyebrow, looking at Ruelra.

After finally clearing out the scum from her sect, she was drugged again while trying to detoxify.
After waking up from a night of unconsciousness, she gained a “beautiful and kind-hearted” husband.
Xin Jiao Zhou: “???”
He fell ill.
She came to see him, bringing breakfast.
As she put down the breakfast and was about to leave, his hand slipped while holding the spoon. “Clank!”
She turned around upon hearing the noise.
He looked up at her, his eyebrows drooping: “My hand… has no strength.”
“Shall I… feed you?” she asked tentatively.
He opened his mouth cheerfully: “Ah—”
Thinking she was drowning, he jumped in without hesitation to save her, but nearly drowned himself. In the end, it was she who swam over to rescue him, giving him air underwater.
After emerging from the water, his ear tips turned red. He lightly brushed his cheek, tucking his sideburns behind his ear, revealing delicate, pink-tinged ear tips. He lowered his gaze, too embarrassed to look at her.
Xin Jiao Zhou: He’s truly beautiful, kind-hearted, and adorable.
