I nearly screamed out loud. But the man beat me to it.

“Oh, it’s cold!”

His pants had gotten soaked from the overflowing basin. The startled man quickly stepped backward. In that instant, an idea flashed through Ji Na’s mind. She pulled out the long hose submerged in the basin.

“Ugh, it’s way too hot out.”

Ji Na began spraying water from the hose into the air. Whoosh! As the cool water sprayed around, the man waved his hands and retreated several steps back.

“Ugh, seriously.”

From a safe distance, he irritably brushed off the droplets on his clothes while keeping his eyes on Ji Na, waiting to see how long she’d keep this up. Ji Na sprinkled water here and there, trying to figure out how to slip away.

“Hello.”

At that moment, a voice far too familiar reached her ears. A man suddenly appeared at the bottom of the stairs—as if he’d sprung right out of the ground. It was Jin Woo.

“Uh… uh… y-yes, yes.”

Flustered by Jin Woo’s comet-like entrance, the man gave his clothes one last pat and calmly walked down the stairs.

“Honey!”

The unfamiliar word slipped out in pure delight. That was definitely the pet name Ji Hye used for Ji Na back at the office. Why on earth did it just pop out again like that?

Ji Na immediately clamped her mouth shut. Jin Woo, who had just appeared wearing a white shirt and beige cotton pants, also looked momentarily frozen.

He seemed unsure whether she’d really called out to him. Ji Na quickly dropped the hose back into the basin and called out to him again in a calm voice.
