The Man Who Shakes Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 25

The weekend had arrived. Ji Na was getting ready to go to Do Jin’s house. They weren’t people she particularly needed to impress anyway. She opened the closet and threw on whatever clothes caught her eye.

Ji Na stared blankly at her reflection in the full-length mirror before picking up her bag.

Having left the house, Ji Na hailed a taxi on the street.

Once inside the taxi, Ji Na recited Do Jin’s home address to the driver. She had nearly forgotten it completely and almost had to call the HR department at work to look it up. Fortunately, she found it in an old saved note on her phone app.

‘This is for Jin Woo.’

It was just an extension of work, just business. Ji Na kept repeating this to herself like brainwashing. For some reason, today of all days, dark clouds hung heavily in the sky outside the window.

The ominous feeling in one corner of her chest felt like those very dark clouds looming over her.

Do Jin’s house was exactly as Ji Na remembered it.

“Ji Na, you’re here?”

Do Jin’s mother welcomed Ji Na warmly. The moment Ji Na stepped into the entryway and greeted her, she was pulled into a tight hug.

Ji Na knew it was her habit to always hug her whenever they met, but right now, this warm embrace felt more uncomfortable than ever. Ji Na awkwardly pulled away.

“Ji Na, I’m sorry. Let me apologize on his behalf.”

Do Jin’s mother suddenly grabbed both of Ji Na’s hands tightly and apologized outright.

Ji Na looked at Do Jin standing beside them, flustered and unsure what to do. Unlike her, no emotion could be read on Do Jin’s face. He simply seemed to be quietly observing the situation.
