“Manager…”

Startled, Yoon Joo looked at Do Jin with a disappointed expression.

“Oh, ah… No, I mean, later…”

As if snapping out of his frustration only now, Do Jin gaped for a moment, flustered.

“I’m just really busy right now—I misspoke.”

Do Jin carelessly lowered his arm and brushed against the stack of documents piled on his desk. They tumbled to the floor with a clatter, and Do Jin stared down at the scattered papers with a bewildered look.

“Haa… Yoon Joo, could you please tidy this up?”

Do Jin confidently instructed Yoon Joo, then hurriedly left—as if he’d just been caught doing something wrong. Confused by his uncharacteristic panic, Yoon Joo began picking up the papers with a puzzled expression.

By the time they finished visiting the last store, it was almost time to clock out.

“It’s already this late?”

Glancing at her wristwatch, Ji Na murmured to herself.

“The director told us to leave right away… and we still have the company car…”

Ji Na fell silent for a moment, her lips pressed together in thought. On a whim, she picked up her phone.

“Yes, Director. This is Lee Ji Na. We’ve completed our tasks, and I’m calling to confirm whether we should return the company car.”

At the sound of the director’s voice through the receiver, Ji Na’s eyes widened slightly. She cast a curious glance at Jin Woo and made a peculiar expression, clearly surprised.
