Reina placed the hand that had been fidgeting under the blanket onto her lap and smiled awkwardly.
“Did you have a good talk with the knights?”
Arthur smiled brightly.
“I’m sorry for leaving you alone.”
“No, it’s fine. Thanks to that, I was able to rest comfortably by myself.”
Arthur came closer to the bed and sat down.
For some reason, it felt strange having him sit beside her.
…Was what happened at dawn just a dream?
It would be nice if she had the courage to ask.
Reina shook off the thought and asked about something else.
“Um, have you… met all the bereaved families?”
“You seem concerned.”
Reina figured that even if she said she was worried, there was nothing she could do, and it would only come off as hypocritical, so she just murmured softly, “Just…” and trailed off.
Arthur let out a quiet chuckle.
Then he lightly tapped and stroked Reina’s head with his hand.
