Upon receiving information about ‘Rembrandt’ from Kevrant, Arthur ordered additional investigation into another person.

It was about Rembrandt’s retainer.

“He’s a diplomat attached to the royal family, and his name seems to be Francis.”

After finishing his command with the words to report as it proceeds, Arthur told Kevrant he could go.

Rembrandt was a royal relative and somewhat of a celebrity, so someone of Kevrant’s high nobility would already have information about such a figure, and thus could answer immediately.

However, he thought that Rembrandt’s retainer, being different from such a famous person, would require investigation time.

Yet, upon receiving the command, Kevrant paused for just about one second before responding immediately.

“……That would be my brother.”

Arthur was unusually speechless for a moment.

“I think I can report to you right away.”

Kevrant began to speak calmly.

“Francis Ford. The second son of the Earl of Ford. He’s twentyeight. He decided to pursue a diplomatic and administrative career at a young age, attended the prestigious elite course that the royal family and high nobility attend in order, and graduated from West River College with excellent grades.”

Arthur made an effort to concentrate on Kevrant’s report while maintaining his composure.

“He’s a classmate who studied with the Crown Prince and Duke Rembrandt. He used to be a bit of a troublemaker when he was young, but now he’s a respectable sixyear veteran diplomat attached to the royal family. He speaks either four or eight languages. Kevrant continued to speak calmly.

“Knight Kevrant Ford has him as a younger brother. Now, he is assisting Duke Rembrandt on the orders of His Majesty the Emperor. ……As you know, the younger brother is assisting Duke Arthur.”

Arthur chuckled slightly.

Kevrant also laughed softly.

“We met here a few days ago and exchanged updates. It’s not so sentimental as to shed tears of joy at the reunion, but it’s enough to meet and say hello, knowing each other is still alive.”

Kevrant continued to speak.

“I could potentially know about ‘Francis Ford’ in detail to the point of no privacy. To what extent would you like?”

Arthur coughed heavily and spoke.

“……This is a bit embarrassing. Sorry.”

When Arthur apologized, Kevrant laughed.

“What do you have to apologize for? You’ve found the perfect candidate.”

Arthur rubbed his forehead and looked a bit sheepish.

“I didn’t know he was your brother. If I had known his surname was ‘Ford’, I would have guessed. I only knew his first name.”

“You could have. It’s fine. It’s not like you’re ordering an assassination or anything.”

Arthur chuckled.

Kevrant spoke cheerfully.

“What are you curious about? He’s not particularly wellregarded in the family, but he’s been managing his future normally. But I don’t think you’re interested in that.”

Arthur paused for a moment and asked.

“Is your brother still unmarried?”

“Yes. He’s still unmarried.”

“Twentyeight is a bit late. Did he miss the timing due to the noble marriage ban?”

“That’s right. There was a person who was talking about an engagement at one point, but it became vague as the war broke out. As far as I know, he’s not seeing anyone now, but I haven’t had a deep conversation with my family since I returned. If you order, I will find out in more detail.”

Arthur was silent for a short while.

It seemed he was hesitant to order an investigation into the younger brother of his subordinate, who was right in front of him.

Kevrant, keeping in mind that his first additional question about Francis was whether he was ‘unmarried’, waited for Arthur’s next command.

“No. I’m asking you.”

Arthur spoke frankly.

“I’m investigating my wife. For some reason. I’m concerned whether it’s ‘Rembrandt’s retainer’ or ‘Francis Ford’ himself who is investigating.”

“Ah.”

Kevrant let out a short exclamation.

It was a reason that made sense as soon as he heard it.

Kevrant quickly reviewed the possibilities and circumstances that could be inferred from his words in his head.

“What kind of person is your brother? Is he the type to show interest if there’s a beauty? If not, it’s highly likely it was ‘Rembrandt’s order’.”

Arthur asked afterwards.

Kevrant thought about his brother’s personality.
