Reyna stood quietly and submitted to her inspection.

Perhaps she was inspecting that.

Whether there was anything inappropriate.

Reyna wasn’t sure if it would be visible to the eye, but she would rather have the Duchess see it.

The Duchess sighed in a voice filled with dripping worry, seeming to look at Reyna with concern.

“What to do if you are so weak.”

Everything flowed like water afterwards.

Reyna, hesitantly, asked Arthur if she could have a brief private conversation to reassure her mother.

“……”

Arthur let her go.

“Go, madam.”

With a dry smile that barely lifted the corners of his mouth.

Naturally, the hand that was caught was released.

She wanted to run away when it was just the two of them.

Feeling a bit strange when she was finally released.

[This is the time separator]

“Well done, Reyna.”

At the first words of the Duchess, Reyna instinctively felt relieved.

Honestly, she braced herself to take a hit…

But she was glad that she understood that she had no choice but to use the young lady’s bedroom.

But upon hearing the Duchess’s following words, Reyna’s heart sank again.

“Seeing you do well makes me feel like it’s okay to keep you in that position a little longer.”

Reyna’s complexion paled.

“What?”

What more…

No, please pull me out quickly.

Sitting on the sofa and fanning herself, the Duchess continued.

“Arthur is still not coming to the negotiation table. It seems he wants to show off by keeping you, our weakness, by his side for a while. It’s childish, but, well. Anyway, we’re preparing something to compensate him, so it’s okay to give ourselves a little breather. I’m asking for a little more help.”

The Duchess made a gentle voice with cold eyes.

Not showing her anxious heart in front of the maid was the last pride of the Duchess.

“I’m thankful that you are a quickwitted child. It would have been tricky if you were a useless child, but you’re reliable. I’m always grateful.”

“……”

What does that mean?

Staring at the Duchess in fear while listening to the insincere courtesy, the Duchess briefly looked at her and turned away.

Clatter.

Before she knew it, Mrs. Hurst, the maid of honor, came with a tea cup on a tray.

“Drink it.”

The Duchess said.

Reyna looked at the unidentified tea cup with a slightly frozen face.

It was a tea cup filled with dark water with a faintly reddish tint.

“What is…this?”

The Duchess smiled.

“It’s a medicine I’m giving you out of gratitude.”

The Duchess herself picked up the tea cup from the tray and handed it to Reyna.

“It will protect your dreams.”

“……”

Reyna realized what kind of medicine it was as soon as she heard the Duchess’s words.

It’s a medicine to prevent pregnancy.

It was her first time actually seeing it, but Reyna remembered hearing the story of the ‘red water that removes the child’ circulating among the maids.

She knew that it was a medicine that was not good for the body, as there were countless maids who became infertile or got sick after drinking it, but Reyna received the poison cup from the Duchess without being able to make an excuse that nothing happened with Arthur.

“……”

Would she believe me if I said I didn’t sleep with Sir Arthur?

If I try to avoid drinking the medicine with that excuse, it would look like I’m trying to tie something up with Arthur in some way.

Honestly, whether I slept or didn’t sleep, there’s no reason for the Duchess not to make me drink such a medicine as insurance…

With no idea what would happen in the future, if she said it was for prevention, I had nothing to say.

All she needed was assurance that I wouldn’t be an obstacle to Miss Christina.

“You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”

“……”

Why do I think of that now……

Reyna brought the cup to her lips with both hands.

The medicine was bitter and disgusting.

“……cough.”

After swallowing everything, a small cough came out.

Seeing Reyna finish all her medicine, Mrs. Hurst handed her a candy.

Reyna received it with both hands and obediently put it in her mouth, saying, “Thank you.”

The lady’s order continued.

“Restrict your outings as much as possible, and particularly, avoid any excuse to appear before ‘Lord Rembrandt.’ Do you know the royal guest staying in the mansion? If he sees your face, things will get complicated. Make an excuse that you’re not feeling well, or you don’t want to meet men other than your husband.”

“Yes, my lady.”

The Marchioness spoke again after a short pause.

“And there’s one more thing I’d like you to do.”

What more could there be…?

An ominous feeling came over her.

The words of the Marchioness continued.

“If you can accomplish this task without error, I will give you ten times your weekly pay. Regardless of how long it takes, every week.”

Reyna was taken aback.

Ten times? Was such a wage even possible?

With that money…

“……”

Reyna was momentarily conflicted, but soon her heart leaned towards giving up.

It was already risky.

If she offered such a reward for this job, it must be very dangerous.

No amount of money was more precious than life.

For Reyna, the most important thing was to return to her grandmother safely.

Reyna tried to express her reluctance to accept such a daunting task with a pitiful yet desperate expression, frowning her eyebrows.

“My lady……”

But the Marchioness made an offer Reyna couldn’t refuse.

“I will send Taylor to your house. Taylor Lorenson, the son of Dr. Lorenson, your family doctor.”

“……”

Reyna hesitated at the unexpected proposal.

Taylor Lorenson.

The son of Dr. Lorenson who, along with his father, was living in the mansion as a resident physician. He was also the second doctor of the mansion.

“Taylor, he’s quite competent for his age. When Dr. Lorenson retires, he will be the family doctor of the Julius family, so you can trust his skills.”

‘Grandmother.’

Her heart pounded.

The words of the Marchioness continued.

“How about it. I know you two have a special relationship. Isn’t it a proposal that you’ll appreciate?”

Arthur, leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed, lightly tapped his arm with his fingertips.

A moment later, he uncrossed his arms, stretched out his hand on the desk, picked up a cigar, and lit it.

As he exhaled, a cloud of smoke spread throughout the room.

…I see.

There could have been a man.

In his case, it wouldn’t have been a real marriage…

A ripple of aura shivered through the air.

A sense that only Arthur could feel.

A soft sarcastic atmosphere settled around the mouth of Arthur, who was waiting for them on the other floor.

Cold Male Lead Became My Clingy Husband (Female-Dominant)

Feng Bai Su transmigrated into a matriarchal novel, becoming the sister of the female protagonist and the Seventh Princess of the Feng Ling Kingdom.

After working herself to death in her previous life, finally reincarnating as a princess, she only wanted to be a lazy fish who could eat, sleep, and play.

Until she met the male protagonist from the book, Wei Jing Mo, and he took a liking to her!

Wei Jing Mo is the top young man in Feng Ling City, talented in both appearance and ability, from a prestigious family, with a cold and otherworldly appearance, a figure like the bright moon in the hearts of noble ladies. It was thought that only the most powerful and talented noble lady in Feng Ling City would be worthy of such a brilliant young man. Who knew that this young gentleman would secretly admire the infamous Seventh Princess?

Short scene 1:

Feng Bai Su looked at the young man crying like a pear blossom in the rain before her, and couldn’t help but doubt her life.

Wasn’t the male lead described as a cold and otherworldly figure in the book?

Then who was this poor little thing crying with swollen red eyes and tear-stained face?

Short scene 2:

Wei Jing Mo stared intently at Feng Bai Su who was about to go out, wanting to say, “Be careful on the road.”

Before he could speak, Feng Bai Su suddenly bent down and bit his cheek.

Her peach blossom eyes were full of disdain: “Tsk! You’re so clingy!”

Wei Jing Mo: “…”

A talented fox spirit female lead with a flirtatious appearance but actually abstinent VS A cold-looking but actually naive and clingy little jealous male lead
