That sword would be thrown somewhere and lodged strongly.

Colin fervently hoped it wouldn’t be his heart, as he bowed his head shudderingly.

For a long time, Colin rubbed his chin in thought, then he opened his mouth in a small voice.

“A sated beast does not attack prey that walks before its eyes.”

“Should I bring something for you to eat so you won’t be hungry?”

Colin nodded at Dyke’s quick response.

He caught such a metaphorical expression in a flash.

It felt like he was connecting with Dyke for the first time in a while.

“Yes, that would be best.”

As soon as permission was granted, Dyke responded in earnest.

“Yes, then I will ask the royal chef to bring something worth eating.”

Colin looked at Dyke with a sour expression.

Of course.

There was no way he would connect with this greenhorn.

With a disapproving click of his tongue, Colin grabbed Dyke’s arm as he was about to run off to the kitchen.

“No, that’s not it.”

“If not that, then what?”

“We need to arrange for you to meet the princess before we get eaten.”

“Huh?”

“Hmm….”

With a mysterious look, Colin gripped Dyke’s chin hard.

After pulling Dyke’s chin toward him, he turned it this way and that, observing his face.

“Your skin is good.”

“What are you doing right now?”

“The facial features are well placed, too.”

“Assistant Colin!”

Even as Dyke’s face contorted in distaste, Colin ignored him, lost in thought.

“Hmm, your parents must have prayed a lot.”

Unable to stand it any longer, Dyke yelled and shook off Colin’s hand.

“What does that have to do with the current situation?”

“Try to behave a little more like a gentleman.”

“Why should I behave like a gentleman when you’re teasing me like this?”

“I’m not talking about me, but the queen’s maidservant.”

Taken aback, Dyke recoiled from Colin.

“What are you talking about?”

Colin held Dyke’s fleeing cheek with both hands and applied force.

Dyke, who failed to escape, floundered like a fish caught by Colin.

“Let’s try to melt her with this halfandhalf face.”

“I don’t want to.”

With his face held, Dyke strongly refused and moved his hand towards the gun grip.

“Think about it carefully. This is something we absolutely need for our survival…..”

Shoop.

A sharp flash of light passed between Colin and Dyke.

Aaron’s sword split the point where their gazes crossed and lodged itself in a tree next to them.

Colin couldn’t finish his sentence as he lost his breath.

Dyke’s hand, which was heading for the gun grip, froze in midair.

Both Colin and Dyke remained frozen, facing each other.

Their ears filled with a chilly voice, as though they had turned into marble statues.

“You two, so affectionate, right in front of my eyes, as if to show off.”

Aaron gritted his teeth and spat out each word with force.

Colin and Dyke managed to peel off their bodies, attached by the penetrating chill.

They straightened their bodies towards the commander.

“Didn’t you hear the command to finish this quickly?”

“We certainly did.”

Aaron’s unusual energy filled the garden reconstruction site.

Despite it being midsummer, the energy was so cold that goosebumps rose.

The soldiers, who had been watching the tense assistants from afar, gulped.

“Are you flirting like that? The two of you. Together. Amicably.”

Dyke responded in an aggrieved voice.

“It’s not like we’re close.”

At Dyke’s protest, Aaron’s eyebrows writhed ferociously.

“Aren’t your colleagues getting along now? The military discipline has deteriorated.”

“No, we get along.”

Feeling gloomy at the situation where any word could cause the commander’s anger and there would be no way to avoid it.

If you’re caught, you’re killed for whatever reason.

All the imperial soldiers in the garden understood the commander’s situation.

The Imperial Army’s energy to dig the ground intensified.

Clods of dirt began to fly like fountains behind Aaron.

“Try it again. Flirting. Fighting.”

Staring at the scattered dirt, Colin and Dyke answered simultaneously.

“It’s not, not like that.”

“It’s definitely not like that.”

“Then what is it?”

While Dyke’s face turned red, Colin promptly replied.

“We were calculating the chances of success.”

“Chances of success?”

“The probability that this guy can buy off the queen’s maid.”

At Colin’s unexpected remark, Aaron’s eyes filled with a strange light.

Feeling a significant decline in Aaron’s piercing energy, Collin plucked up the courage to add an explanation.

“We planned to purchase maids in the beauty sector and find ways to bring down the queen and princess.”

“Hmm.”

Aaron looked at the two with a suspicious expression.

“I was calculating the success rate of the operation while looking at this guy’s face.”

“So, what’s the success rate?”

“We estimate it at 60%.”

Dyke was surprised by the conversation exchanged between his two direct superiors.

“Only 60%?”

“It’s because he has a halfhearted face but lacks guts.”

“Tsk.”

A soldier approached Aaron, who was looking at Collin and Dyke with displeasure, and conveyed a message.

“Commander, it’s time.”

Aaron raised his head and looked at the sun hanging in the middle of the sky.

“Has it already been so long?”

Unlike his cold demeanor so far, he let out a heavy sigh and gave an order to Collin.

“Make it possible. Raise the success rate to 200%.”

At Aaron’s approval, the corners of Collin’s mouth rose to his ears.

“Yes, Commander. I’ll train him well.”

Hearing Collin’s answer, Aaron turned around and walked towards the palace.

Only when Aaron’s figure disappeared into the building did the two let out a sigh of relief.

“Lieutenant Collin.”

Dyke let out his suppressed displeasure.

“I can’t possibly do such a thing.”

“Didn’t you hear the order? You must do it.”

“But.”

“Our survival is at stake.”

Ignoring Dyke’s distorted expression, Collin clenched his fist and said.

“Operation name. Extract the Baby Deer.”

The Baby Deer Princess.

I’m sorry, but you’ll have to become the prey of a starving wolf.

“This operation must succeed.”

Collin’s solemn voice echoed through the drifting dust.

“Dyke. From now on, it’s special training.”

An Indifferent Woman is the One Men Desire the Most

One-line summary: The female lead is actually cold-hearted and extremely rational. She has stage-by-stage relationships and won’t two-time, but there will always be someone who secretly likes her.

This novel has the following triggers, so if you’re sensitive to these, please don’t read:

1. The female lead has had many relationships, but she treated each one seriously and broke up properly.

It’s just that the men unilaterally pestered her incessantly. For the female lead, when she doesn’t like someone anymore, she simply doesn’t like them.

(This applies to her relationships with Male Lead 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well, but she’s loyal in each 1-on-1 relationship!)

2. In this novel, Male Lead 2 and the female lead kiss in a car, and Male Lead 1 sees it and beats up Male Lead 2.

The female lead calls the police and sends both Male Lead 1 and 2 to the police station! Male Lead 1 begs the female lead not to break up with him.

3. Male Lead 1 has a gentle appearance but an obsessive personality.

Male Lead 2 has a delicate and soft appearance, slightly green tea-like (two-faced).

Male Lead 3 is a youthful college student and a smart person who has secretly liked the female lead for a long time.

Male Lead 4 is the female lead’s father’s special assistant, a business elite with deep, hidden thoughts.

4. At the beginning of this novel, the female lead has already broken up with Male Lead 1 (Chapter 4) and gotten back together with Male Lead 2 (ex-boyfriend).

5. Enter with caution if you have triggers!!!
