In a dark corridor, a group of shadows moved in silence.

A secret passage created for the royal family to evacuate from the castle in an emergency.

Conversely, it was also handy when infiltrating from the outside into the castle.

Delia led the royal guard through the secret passage into the castle.

Delia and the guard led by Zer stopped at a crossroads with stairs.

“Here’s the passage that connects to the grand ballroom. This path is the central hall on the first floor. These stairs are the balcony on the second floor.”

At Delia’s gesture, one group divided into two.

Captain Otto, who was about to move according to Delia’s command, asked cautiously.

“Do you really think they’ll be in the grand ballroom?”

Otto’s voice, echoing in the dark and narrow corridor, seeped into their anxious hearts.

Involuntarily, Delia’s golden eyelids trembled.

By the time they turned back, the castle had already been occupied by the imperial army.

Scared people fleeing from the castle, the guard assisting the escape, and the imperial army blocking them.

The area around the castle was in chaos.

He dared.

Grinding her teeth in chaos, Delia barely caught a maid dressed in the castle’s maid uniform.

‘Do you know where the king is?’

The maid stared at Delia, who had her hood pulled deep over her face, and answered.

‘He stayed in the grand ballroom to declare surrender to the Imperial Army.’

Perhaps the maid had an idea who the person in front of her was.

And what she planned to do next.

The maid quietly whispered, tightly holding Delia’s hand.

‘Be careful.’

Despite the tense situation, it felt as if the warmth the maid had given remained in her hand.

Delia clenched her hand to keep the warmth from leaving.

“We can only hope that what the maid said is correct.”

With a resolute determination, Delia opened her tightly closed eyes.

“Go up, check the situation, take position, then attack the Imperial Army.”

“Yes, Your Highness.”

“As soon as we hear gunshots, we’ll push in immediately.”

At Delia’s words, Zer and the guards nodded their heads.

“And……”

Delia caught her breath for a moment and said determinedly.

“Snipe the commanderinchief first. Silver hair. You must succeed.”

Zer nodded his head, looking at the blue pupils that sparkled even in the darkness.

“Yes, Your Highness. I understand.”

“We’re going to rescue our parents in the hall amidst the chaos.”

“Please be careful.”

“You too, Zer.”

After exchanging grave greetings, Delia and Zer moved in separate directions.

Delia moved forward after checking the retreating figure of Zer climbing the stairs.

Behind Delia and the guards who suppressed their presence, a shadow darker than the darkness followed.

Having walked for a while, Delia, who had reached her destination, leaned against the rough wall and caught her breath.

She blinked her eyes to figure out her surroundings in the deep darkness.

The strong heartbeat reached her fingertips touching the wall.

Kill the enemy’s commander and rescue the king and queen.

It was dangerous, but as a princess of Eorenti, she had to do it.

Delia placed her hand on the door handle leading to the grand ballroom and heightened all her senses.

The moment she was listening for Zer’s signal, which could ring at any time.

“Should I kill?”

A familiar voice came from the other side of the door.

Although the voice coming through the door was dull, she could definitely tell.

That it was his voice.

A voice like moist fog, damp and cold.

The sound of the enemy’s commander threatening her father, the King of Eorenti, came vividly.

“Should I spare?”

Delia regripped the gun that was about to slip from her sweaty hand.

Thankfully, it wasn’t too late.

A wave of relief that her parents were alive, and at the same time, a wave of despair hit her.

Having to face him again.

All she could hope for was that Zer would succeed in killing him.

But……

Delia raised her head and stared at the ceiling shrouded in vast darkness.

What the hell is Zer doing?

There was enough time since arriving on the second floor.

Zer had to attack from above to create a gap for her to move.

But no matter how long she waited, she couldn’t hear the sound of Zer’s attack.

Sweat trickled down Delia’s forehead as she grew anxious.

Regardless of Delia’s situation in hiding, the commander outside kept pushing his opponent relentlessly.

“The choice, I’ll leave it up to you.”

Delia strained her ears and sharply observed the situation outside.

Now. Zer.

She had screamed silently, but the situation outside remained calm.

A sinister energy crept over Delia.

“I told you.”

As Delia wiped the sweat from her palms onto her clothes, she pricked up her ears.

Who the hell is that lunatic talking to, anyway?

“I’m not interested in the pyramids. If only you would appear before me…..”

Delia froze at the chill that ran down her spine.

‘I’m not interested in the pyramids. As long as you, my captive, are by my side like this…..’

It was what he had whispered into Delia’s ear when they were hunting in the Tarence Mountains.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
