“Excuse me, I have a request.”
All eyes focused on Rosé.
Though she found it uncomfortable being the center of attention from three pairs of eyes, she braced herself and spoke.
“May I stay here until I find a place to live?”
At Rosé’s words, Libera blinked her rabbitlike eyes. The demon just stared at Rosé without saying a word.
Rosé was quite taken aback by the lack of response from the Serviat couple.
‘Did I make a mistake?’
Their expressions looked very embarrassed. Rosé had no choice but to try to read the room, blinking her large eyes.
“My girl, what do you mean?”
“Huh? That’s……”
“Of course, you should live with mom and dad. How can we send our daughter off alone?”
Rosé’s tense face relaxed brightly at Libera’s words.
“Don’t worry too much about your father’s reaction. He’s just expressing his disappointment over the past. He doesn’t intend to evict you or anything like that.”
At Libera’s words, the demon awkwardly coughed. He seemed to guess that Rosé was thinking this way because of his behavior.
“He’s been like that since you were young. Even though he says such things, he loves you very much. So don’t worry too much.”
Libera warmly reassured Rosé once more and then sent a scornful look towards the demon.
Despite listening to Libera’s words, Rosé kept an eye on the demon. Her eyes met with the demon’s, who had been coughing awkwardly.
The demon, sensing that Rosé was watching him, opened his mouth in a low voice.
“I have to keep an eye on you, I don’t know what you’ll do next.”
Although the tone wasn’t sweet, she could definitely feel it. The demon didn’t want to let Rosé go.
Only then did Rosé let out a smile. Although the mansion was older and more rundown than the Earl of Wens’s mansion, she felt relieved that she could stay here.
She somehow felt reassured that she could be with the Serviat couple.
[Star Icon][Star Icon]The next day, the Earl of Wens’s mansion.
Jane, who couldn’t even say goodbye to Rosé, was very upset. While she stepped away for a moment, Rosé left.
Despite thinking that Rosé must have a reason, Jane felt sore.
Although the note left by Rosé promised a future meeting, Jane was at a loss.
There was no way to contact Rosé, she just had to wait.
Suddenly thinking of Rosé again brought up a surge of emotions. She thought she had dried up her tear ducts crying all last night, but it seemed that was not the case.
‘The lady said we would meet again… just have to wait.’
It wouldn’t be a casual remark.
She didn’t like the fact that the hypocrite’s child left a note saying ‘together’ for dinner, but it was okay. As long as she could meet Rosé, she would expose all of Serrun.
Just then, Serrun walked up.
“Jane, can we talk for a moment?”
“Leave me alone, I have nothing to say to you.”
Jane, not wanting to be with Serrun even for a moment, tried to leave.
However, she had to pause at Serrun’s words.
“It’s about the lady.”
She stood still on the spot and turned around.
“Ha, I wish I didn’t have to hear about the lady from you. Betrayer.”
The word ‘betrayer’ stabbed Serrun’s heart.
Why does Jane’s words hurt so much, even though he initially approached with intent?
He looked at Jane, unable to hide his bitter expression. Jane almost wavered at the sight of Serrun’s misty eyes.
‘Don’t be fooled. That bastard has been playing me from the start.’
She almost fell for the man who whispered love with innocent eyes again. Jane shook her head and pulled herself together.
She had vowed not to be fooled twice… but human emotions don’t always move as one wishes.
“Ah, not a betrayer. That doesn’t suit you, who planned to deceive us from the start.”
She acted colder on purpose. She wanted to keep her distance from Serrun that much.
Jane ‘huffed’ and turned her back as if to show off. However, she had to stop at Serrun’s following words.
“I think the lady was kidnapped.”
“What did you say?”
Jane’s clattering voice echoed in the garden. She glared at Serrun as if to say what kind of nonsense is this.
“Shh. Other people will hear.”
Serrun whispered, placing his finger on Jane’s lips which had protested loudly.
Jane frowned deeply and forcefully swatted Serun’s hand away.
“Don’t touch me. It’s disgusting.”
At Jane’s sharp words, Serun nodded silently, his spirit seemed to have wilted.
Why is my heart softening like this? Clearly he’s a terrible guy causing big troubles. The image of Serun wilting like a sad puppy ignited her maternal instincts.
Jane turned her head away after staring at Serun with her trembling eyes.
“….Kidnapping, what are you talking about? If you’re wasting my time with useless talk, you’re going to regret it.”
“I saw it in the square. Some enormous man was running away with the lady.”
“….When?”
“Yesterday afternoon.”
At Serun’s words, Jane’s face paled.
“Are, are you sure you saw it?”
“I didn’t see the face…… but it was definitely the lady.”
“No, then why did you just stand there and watch!”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
