“Thank you, Your Grace.”
Rosé never expected him to be so actively helpful. She bowed her head towards the Duke in gratitude.
“What are you thanking me for? Is that all? Don’t you want more?”
Rosé nodded to the Duke’s words.
‘I suppose His Grace really considers me a lifesaver. All I did was tell a plausible lie.’
Just asking to borrow money seemed shameless enough, let alone wanting something more.
There was nothing else she desired. Being too greedy could stir up trouble, couldn’t it?
“No, there’s nothing else. I’m grateful enough that you would heed such an unreasonable request.”
Rosé looked at him with wideopen eyes, shaking her head.
“Well, how much do you need?”

The Duke responded as if he was ready to give Rosé the money right away.
‘It’s a considerable amount…’
It was an amount that would make one hesitate to utter. She genuinely worried that the moment she honestly stated the amount, the Duke might change his mind.
How should she convey her plan effectively? As Rosé was contemplating this, she heard a familiar man’s voice in her ear.
“Damn it! What the hell are you getting yourself into?”
It was the voice of Eric, filled with rage. He looked around like a beast searching for its prey, seeking Rosé.
Rosé turned her head towards the direction of Eric’s voice. Unintentionally, she scowled at the sight of Eric searching for her.
His appearance was remarkably different than before, seeming very out of sorts.
His shirt buttons were askew as if they were misaligned, and his usually neat hair was tousled.
‘What happened to him?’

Did he fall, startled by something like her?
With her eyes still furrowed, Rosé looked at Eric, then turned her gaze to Duke Artem.
“I think I should go for today, Your Grace. Can we talk about the money you promised to lend me later?”
Duke Artem, while watching Eric approaching, nodded his head.
He didn’t like the unexpected appearance of Eric, but he couldn’t keep Rosé detained either.
“Alright. I’ll send someone to the Wens’ estate.”
At the Duke’s words, Rosé shook her head in surprise.
“No, that won’t be necessary.”
She didn’t want to show her interactions with the Duke to Eric. In the novel, Eric was a man with a strong possessiveness.
He had little to no interest in Rosé but always treated her as his possession. He interacted with several women, but was unhappy if his wife so much as locked eyes with another man.

To such an Eric, Duke Artem would surely be an irksome and intrusive existence.
‘If he knows that I’m in contact with the Duke… He will torment me for no reason.’
She didn’t need to create unnecessary trouble. Rosé spoke softly to Duke Artem, giving him a faint smile.
“I will contact you first, Your Grace.”
She bowed her head towards Duke Artem and hurriedly left the place. Watching Rosé hastily retreating, the Duke soon turned and left in the opposite direction.
[Star Icon][Star Icon][Star Icon]‘So… Could you lend me some money?’
Suddenly, Rosé’s voice, asking to borrow money, brushed past his mind.
“Really… An unpredictable woman.”
He was quite surprised by her request for a divorce, but Rosé’s words of wanting to borrow money, not asking for it, felt somewhat cunning.

“Could it be, she’s trying to maintain our relationship in any way possible?”
The moment he gave her alimony, the ties with Duke Artem would be cut, but being tied through a debt could prolong the relationship a bit longer.
The Duke deluded himself that he had correctly deciphered Rosé’s intentions in asking to borrow money.
“She could’ve just asked to be friends.”
Who would easily want to befriend him, seeing his troubled self?
Duke Artem seemed entirely unaware of how terrifying he appeared objectively.
Even asking to be friends seemed farfetched, instead the natural reaction would be pleading for mercy.
Reaching a corner of the garden, Duke Artem sat down on an unidentified object that reached up to his knees.
Not long after his arrival, someone appeared from the darkness. With vivaciousness in his eyes, the person walked towards the Duke.
In his hand, he held a knife dripping with blood.

The Duke looked at the man approaching him with a sharp gaze.
Before long, the masked man was in front of the Duke. He swiftly moved his arm holding the hilt of his sword, sheathed it, and nodded towards the Duke.
“I have dealt with them.”
At the low reverberating voice of the man, the Duke, who had been sitting silently, slowly rose from his seat. As if to push away the place where he had been sitting until now, he kicked it with his foot.
Something that had formed a low hill crumbled at the Duke’s footfall.
It was five corpses.
Looking at the slumped bodies, the Duke’s eyes went cold.
“Were they under Duke Plier?”
“Yes. I’ve dealt with the last one, so you can rest assured.”
The masked man threw the object he had been dragging at the Duke’s feet.

Along with a dull sound, what fell to the ground was a corpse. It was a man who he hadn’t been able to deal with because Rosé had shown up.
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
