“I’m pregnant.”
“Pregnant?”
The eyes of Byulha, who was stirring her teacup, grew as big as a rabbit’s. Caught off guard by her friend’s unexpected words, she almost dropped her teacup.
Perhaps it was the shock. The hot tea inside the cup sloshed over and scalded the back of Byulha’s hand.
“Ouch, that’s hot.”
The scalding tea touched her skin, causing a searing sensation. Byulha quickly set down the cup and wiped her hand. Her pale skin was reddening.
Watching Byulha flustered, she opened her mouth. Not even asking if the scalded Byulha was okay, she just spat out what she wanted to say.
“He says he’ll marry me.”
Byulha, who had been blowing cool air on the wound, turned her head and looked at her.
“That’s good. Congratulations on your marriage. Have you set a date? You should hurry and hold the ceremony before your belly grows bigger.”

Since she always bragged about her boyfriend, and showed how much he loved and cherished her, Byulha sincerely congratulated her.
“We’ve already had our formal meeting with the parents, and even booked the wedding hall.”
She gave a faint smile as if to say not to worry, and started to rummage through her highend designer bag.
“I called you here to give you an invitation today.”
She thumped the invitation onto the table. Then, she slowly slid the invitation toward Byulha.
“You’ve already printed invitations?”
They looked rather luxurious with their subtle pearl sheen. Byulha picked up the invitation from the table and opened the envelope.
November 28th. 1:00 PM. S Hotel Wedding Hall
The front was simple. It only contained the date, time, place, and the names of the bride and groom. Seeing the groom’s name, Byulha’s eyes widened.
“Oh my, the groom’s name is ‘Lee Do Hyeon’? That’s the same as my husband’s name.”

What a coincidence. Was Do Hyeon such a common name?
Unable to hide her surprise, Byulha was astounded and amazed, causing the woman sitting across from her to start licking her lips.
She stared at Byulha while biting her lip as if trying to hold back her laughter.
Her entire focus was on Byulha.
“It’s interesting. Well, compared to you, Lee Do Hyeon is a common name.”
“Pfft.”
Struggling to hold back her laughter, she couldn’t help but burst out laughing at Byulha’s followup comment. A low chuckle slipped from her lips. But it was only for a moment, as an eerily sharp guffaw filled the cafe.
“Ah… just a moment. Kekeke…”
Due to her uncontrollable laughter, she became the center of attention. Regardless of the eyes on her, she held her stomach.
“You’re so funny. Seriously.”

Her eyes were filled with tears from laughing so hard. She quickly wiped away her tears with her fingers and nodded at the invitation.
“Open it.”
“Huh? Okay.”
‘Why is she laughing all of a sudden?’
For some reason, she felt uncomfortable. The look in her eyes seemed to be mocking her. Byulha, fixing her gaze on her, slowly unfolded the invitation.
Inside the invitation was a simple phrase promising a happy life together, along with a wedding picture of the bride and groom.
There she was in a dress that highlighted her slender figure and the happy groom beside her.
“……?”
Seeing the photo, Byulha’s mind went blank. The man next to her was someone she knew very well.
“Why is my husband……”

Could it just be someone who looks like him? Did she missee because the groom has the same name as her husband?
Byulha looked at the invitation in her hand again and again. No matter how many times she looked, the man in the photo was her husband, Lee Do Hyeon.
“What… Not funny. Don’t, don’t joke around.”
Byulha looked at her, quivering her lower lip. Her eyes were out of focus and shaking pitifully. She tossed her long hair back and looked at the trembling Byulha.
Looking at Byulha who was clutching at straws, she couldn’t help but chuckle.
‘She’s so stupid. That’s why her man was taken.’
She had even shown her the invitation, but she was still clueless. Thinking that she needed to make everything clear to Byulha, she opened her mouth slowly.
“I’m pregnant with your husband’s baby.”
“……!”
Thump.

‘I’m pregnant with… her husband’s baby?’
My heart sank. I was gasping before I knew it, feeling faint and dizzy. It wasn’t just my vision spinning; my stomach was churning as well.
‘It’s not possible. Why… why with my husband…!’
Biting back a scream, I clamped a trembling hand over my mouth. I couldn’t comprehend what was happening. I prayed for my husband, Lee Dohyun, to appear and tell me it was all a prank.
However, it was nothing more than a vain hope.
Lee Dohyun didn’t show up, and Gyeryu, still rubbing her yettobeshown belly, fixed her gaze on me. She smiled lazily, her eyes intoxicated with victory.
‘There must be some mistake. My husband wouldn’t do such a thing.’
My husband had always been devoted to me, to the point of envy. Even though I had seen the wedding invitations, I couldn’t accept the current situation. No, I didn’t want to accept it.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
