“You’ve got a big heart, Yeoreum.”
The cleaning staff laughed heartily.
“But Manager, we’re probably fired from the resort, right?”
“I was already fired yesterday.”
“That soon?”
“Don’t worry about us. There’s plenty of work out there.”
“Right.”
Yeoreum smiled faintly.
“But, Lawyer, how much do I owe you for the legal fees?”
“It’s free.”

“Really?”
“Yeah. It’s a farewell gift for your office job, and it’s been a while since I felt this refreshed.”
“Thank you!”
“Everyone had a tough morning. How will you get home, Yeoreum? Need a ride?”
“No, I have someone to meet.”
“Then take care.”
“You too, Lawyer. Thank you.”
After bidding farewell to Lawyer Park and the staff, they drove away.
Yeoreum headed to the bus stop.
She boarded the bus to the Woorium Resort but then remembered he had already left the resort. She carefully dialed his number on her phone, only to hear a message that his phone was turned off.

‘I wish I could see him just one more time. Then I could thank him…’
As the bus continued, she saw a sign for Haeundae Beach.
‘Could he be there?’
On a baseless hunch, Yeoreum got off the bus and ran to the beach. Tourists were everywhere on the warm weekend day. She walked briskly, scanning the area.
“Ah!”
She spotted a familiar silhouette lying on the sandy beach.
Overjoyed, she ran towards him without a second thought.
“Sanha!”
He twitched slightly.
“Sanha!”

She called again. He slowly sat up, waving his arms wildly at the approaching Yeoreum, looking utterly bewildered.
Her happiness at seeing him fixated on her was so overwhelming that she didn’t notice her untied shoelaces and kept running, shouting his name, heedless of the onlookers.
Then she stepped on her shoelace, lost her balance, and fell forward.
Only a few meters away from him, Yeoreum face-planted into the sand of the beach.
Embarrassment overcame her before pain could. She couldn’t move at all.
“Hey, magpie. If you’re not dead, why don’t you get up?”
His nonchalant words felt oddly comforting.
Yeoreum lifted her head quickly.
“Hehehe.”
Her face was covered in sand, and even as she laughed, sand crunched between her teeth. His eyebrows furrowed slightly at the sight, but even that was attractive.
“Maybe don’t laugh with that face?”

“Okay!”
Yeoreum sprang to her feet, quickly brushing off the sand and hastily approaching him.
He had spread out a long, black padded jacket like a mat and lay back down on it again.
Carefully, Yeoreum sat down on the sleeve of the jacket.
“You checked out already?”
“Yeah.”
He had his eyes closed.
“Thank you for today.”
“For what?”
“For the video. It really helped. Thank you.”

“Whatever.”
“Did you come to the police station today?”
“Yeah.”
“Because you were worried about me?”
He opened his eyes slightly and looked at her sparkling with anticipation.
“I went to meet someone. A cop.”
“Oh.”
“Disappointed?”
“No.”
Seeing Yeoreum pouting, he asked, “Want a burger?”

“Sure!”
But there was nothing around him.
Just then, a person wearing a delivery helmet and carrying a plastic bag approached.
He told Yeoreum, “Raise your hand.”
Quickly, she lifted her arm.
“Ah, there you are. This is your order.”
He handed over the plastic bag, nodding his head.
Inside were indeed a burger and cola.
“Is this for you?”
“Why ‘you’ again? You were calling me Sanha just fine. Anyone would misunderstand.”

“Hehehe.”
Yeoreum laughed awkwardly, and Sanha said, “I didn’t order it. It was sent to me, but throwing it away would be a hassle.”
“So, I can really eat it?”
“Yeah.”
Sitting beside him, Yeoreum quickly unwrapped the burger and took a big bite.
“Hungry?”
“Guess so. After getting drained at the police station, this tastes like heaven.”
Yeoreum exclaimed in admiration.
He turned his body, propping his head on one arm, and watched her eating the burger intently.
“Tastes good?”

“Yes!”
She ate voraciously, driven by hunger.
After finishing and wiping her mouth with a napkin, he stood up.
Yeoreum did the same.
“Leaving now?”
“Yeah.”
He shook out his jacket vigorously, then brushed off the dust from his hair and body.
Approaching him, Yeoreum helped dust him off.
He glanced at her but let her be.
Yeoreum asked, “Can I call you?”

He replied, “No. Don’t. I’m changing my number.”
“But don’t we have like, a destiny thing?”
“I don’t think so.”
He looked at her squarely and stated clearly, “I don’t live here.”
As Yeoreum looked disappointed, he simply answered and put on his jacket.
He walked ahead, and Yeoreum quickly caught up to face him.
“Do you know my name?”
“No.”
“Then I’ll tell you. My name is Jeong Yeoreum. Hot Summer! I’m twenty-five this year.”
Instead of responding, he just continued walking.

“I am Jeong Yeoreum! Jeong Yeoreum!”
She shouted his name several times after his back.
But he walked away with his large strides, quickly disappearing from sight.
“Wow, so heartless. How can you not look back even once?”
She had liked him after just two meetings.
He was adorable.
It seemed crazy even to her.
Yeoreum stared down the path where Sanha had disappeared for a long time.
Feeling a chill in her body, she finally picked up the plastic bag from the ground.
Her phone rang.
“Mom!”

―Where are you?
“I’m at Haeundae. Mom, do you like traveling? Dad must be carrying you around a lot, right? Please show some moderation in expressing affection, considering those around you.”
―Yeoreum.
“Yes?”
―Can you come up to Seoul right now?
“What’s the matter?”
She noticed her mother’s voice was unusually subdued.
―Call me when you arrive at Seoul Station.
…Seoul Station?
Her heart fluttered with unease.

Yeoreum said,
“Mom, let me talk to Dad.”
―Your father is a bit busy right now. Call me when you arrive.
“Did Dad have an accident?”
There was a sudden sharp intake of breath from the other end of the phone.
―No, it’s not that. Call me when you get to Seoul, okay?
Her mother’s call ended abruptly.
Yeoreum sprinted towards the road, frantically hailing a taxi.
“Please, to Busan Station! Hurry!”
Her body shook uncontrollably.

Despite her mother’s denial, Yeoreum’s mind was filled with one overwhelming thought.
‘Dad’s had an accident. And now he’s… critically ill.’
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?
[Small Theater]
The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
