But her relief was short-lived. The kiss on her nose slid down, covering her lips. She was completely overtaken by him. When she came to her senses, they were already in the bathroom.

“Let’s advance a step further and warm up together.”
“Why did we suddenly go from the car to the bathroom? And why talk about progressing steps as if it’s a lecture?”

Reading Yul Li’s mind, Je Ho continued.

“I think I’ve mentioned it. I don’t like to rush things. There are many stages to progress through before reaching the end.”

“I’m not completely inexperienced in relationships, you know.”

Slightly offended at being treated as naïve, Yul Li didn’t hide her displeasure. She might not have had deep relationships, but she wasn’t entirely inexperienced either. She wasn’t a kid unaware of what could happen between a man and a woman.

“I know.”

With a voice as soft as melting, Je Ho spoke. He cupped Yul Li’s face with both hands, making her look at him, his eyes deepening momentarily.

“With your beauty, I bet many guys have chased after you.”

Unexpectedly, he acknowledged it gently.

“But it’s the first time with me.”

Yul Li was speechless, not expecting such a tender remark from him. More unexpected words continued to flow.

“You and I, we are new to each other. We might be clumsy.”

He leaned in again, lips meeting hers.

“Let’s take it slow and careful, getting to know each other. Both physically and emotionally.”

His breath was like a whisper in her ear, softly unbuttoning her baseball jacket. Then, cradling the back of her head with one hand, he gently kissed her.

She was undoubtedly enchanted. Enchanted by this man.

Yul Li closed her eyes, surrendering her body to his lips and touch.

The sound of the shower filled the bathroom.

To apologize for the sudden cancellation of the wedding, Chairman Kwon arranged a separate dinner with Congressman Chae. Throughout the meal, no one mentioned the wedding. Only after tea and refreshments did Chairman Kwon dismiss all attendants and began solemnly.

“I’m ashamed to face you, Congressman.”

“No need for that, Chairman.”

“How’s Yul Li doing? It must have been a shock.”

“Sent her away to clear her mind.”

Congressman Chae had been informed by his aide before coming here that Yul Li had left on a trip with Je Ho.

He didn’t know where they went, but was certain they left together. Yet, he didn’t mention it. Perhaps Chairman Kwon already knew.

“I’ll stop pushing for MIn Woo’s marriage from now on.”

“Chairman?”

“It’s all my fault. I insisted on a relationship that wasn’t meant to be. I should have given up cleanly after the wedding with Je Ho fell through… I deeply regret how things turned out.”

Odd. Chairman Kwon didn’t seem to know the real reason Min Woo went to the Philippines, yet he looked very disappointed. Usually, he would have prioritized company matters and asked for understanding for Min Woo’s situation.

Congressman Chae couldn’t read Chairman Kwon’s intentions. It was too early to decide whose side to take.

“Chairman, maybe we should just wait and see?”
As a seasoned politician, Congressman Chae decided to take a step back and observe for now.

“Director Kwon, it might be best to wait until Min Woo returns from the Philippines to make any decisions.”

With Congressman Chae proposing this approach, Chairman Kwon couldn’t insist on his own way. He nodded with a complex expression.

“Thank you for your understanding. I am truly sorry, Congressman Chae.”

“There’s no need for such apologies, Chairman. Matters concerning children rarely go as planned.”

At that, Chairman Kwon let out a bitter smile and brought the teacup to his lips.

“Sometimes, a good scolding requires a firm hand. If needed, I’m willing to take even harsher measures. It’s all out of deep parental concern. What do you think, Congressman?”

“Your words are very true.”

Though he verbally agreed, Congressman Chae’s expression slightly hardened as he looked at Chairman Kwon.

In contrast, Chairman Kwon sipped his tea with a content smile.

The shower had been long, too long.

It was supposed to progress just one step further, but they ended up taking two. Consequently, Yul Li was completely exhausted, barely able to stand on her own legs.

Je Ho helped the staggering Yul Li to sit on the bathroom bench and tenderly dried her hair with a large towel. She was so tired she could barely open her eyes. He then picked up a hairdryer and started drying her hair with its warm breeze.

Yul Li remembered up to that point. After that, everything went black. Apparently, she had fallen asleep in Je Ho’s arms, and he had carried her to the bed.

How long had she been asleep?

“Time to wake up?”

At the soft whisper, she struggled to open her heavy eyelids. Was it already morning? But it was still dark outside.

In a drowsy state, Yul Li slowly sat up. Je Ho brushed her hair aside and said, “There’s something I want to show you.”

Her eyes, half-closed until then, opened fully.

“You can sleep more if you’re tired.”

Yul Li shook her head, and Je Ho wrapped her in a blanket and helped her out of bed. As they stepped onto the terrace through the living room, a cold breeze hit her face. However, Yul Li was too captivated by the sight before her to feel the chill.

“Wow.”

Her eyes widened in awe.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
