‘I haven’t given him anything substantial. How regrettable.’

Brody chuckled inwardly but spoke outwardly with confidence.

“We exchanged our most precious items as wedding tokens. Are you convinced now?”

Glacial Stone and Gemfior. Rare, valuable, and meaningful enough to serve as tokens.

Especially the noble Glacial Stone, which could only be possessed by a northern Archduke and traditionally given as a wedding token, lent credibility.

Jacks might know that the token given by Brody, a plant mage, could be conjured in an instant, but what could he do?

He couldn’t directly confront her and ask, “You made this, how valuable can it be?” in a place so public.

The two precious gems were convincing enough as tokens.

Brody spoke in a triumphant voice.

“Now, please leave as you swore.”

Jacks, who had come up hastily from the south and hadn’t yet entered the north, was cornered.

He had already sworn defiantly.

Jacks sent a desperate look at the princess.

The princess neither looked at Jacks nor stopped smiling.

“Fine, Lady Brody. Let’s acknowledge that you are the Archduke’s wife.”

“Your Highness.”

Jacks softly called out to the princess.

His tone suggested discouragement for her quick acknowledgment.

The princess still fixed her gaze on Brody as she spoke.

“However, I find Lady’s claim more appealing.”

Dagak.

The princess took a cautious step forward.

Brody tensed her hand holding Aidan’s and frowned.

Aidan, who had been staring blankly at the Gemfior reflecting the light in Brody’s eyes, suddenly snapped to his senses due to the princess’s movement and Brody’s tension.

Brody asked.

“What do you mean by my claim?”

To Brody’s sharp retort, the princess responded with an even brighter smile.

“Lady Brody, I mean your will to decide where you will be.”

Whoosh. A warm breeze cut between them.

‘A warm breeze? In winter, a warm breeze…?’
Brody was flustered. But there was no need for a second confirmation.

The aura was emanating from the princess.

A cold sweat trickled down Brody’s back.

She composed herself and shouted.

“I’ve already said that I’ll go to the North of my own accord.”

Seeing Brody neither tense nor defensive in front of her, the princess seemed amused and her eyes twinkled.

“Don’t go to the North, Brody. The place where you should be is the warm capital, not the frozen North. We, no, I can provide you with everything you need. So…”

The princess’s golden eyes burned brightly, as if they were piercing through Brody.

Somehow, Brody couldn’t look away from her.

“Choose me. Say it yourself.”

As if standing before the scorching sun of midsummer, a volatile energy began to ripple in front of them.

Aidan had prepared himself.

Because he was certain about what the princess was planning.

“Say it. You want to go back to the empire!”

Whoosh!

Triggered by the princess’s last words, a wave of heat washed over Aidan and Brody.

And at the same time, a chill erupted from Aidan, fiercely enveloping the area.

Although her hair was disheveled, Brody stared intently as the two energies collided.

The gazes of the princess and Brody intertwined.

“Eek!”

“Gasp!”

At the same time, both Jax and the princess let out a small scream of surprise.

And they could not close their screaming mouths.

On both their tongues, poison ivy had sprouted.

Ripple.

The princess’s aura momentarily faltered.

“Run, Your Highness!”

At Brody’s signal, Aidan sharply turned the reins and spurred the horse on.

Although the exact reason was unclear, Brody had a hunch that she had done something.

The princess, feeling a numbing sensation on her tongue, looked back at the retreating figures.

Surprisingly, her face bore a cold sense of elation.

As the princess gathered her energy to burn the plant sprouting in her mouth, she gestured behind her.

Then, thirty soldiers who had been neatly aligned drew their bows.

No, they tried to.

“Hee-hee!”

“Aaagh!”

Suddenly, the horses began to rear and buck in place.

Due to that, the soldiers either fell off or were prevented from even lifting their bows.

Brody grinned as she peered over Aidan’s shoulder.

Her intent to scare the horses with thorns between the lines had been perfectly executed.

‘Sorry, horses.’

Brody, apologizing inwardly to the suffering horses, received a question from Aidan.

“Can you tell me what you did?”

“Ah, that. I used some poison ivy and thorns…”

With just those short words, Aidan understood what she had done.

Though Aidan had faced off with Brody and thought he knew of her ‘abilities as a plant mage,’ the reality surpassed his imagination.

She had launched the most efficient attack unnoticeably.

It wasn’t something any plant mage could do.

Ingenious planning, quick judgment and bold execution, along with calm precision.

He felt reassured, yet at the same time, chills ran down his spine.

What would have happened if she were on the side of the empire?

Aidan had always felt like an alien in this world, especially because there had been countless moments where she could have killed him since their first encounter.

“So you really did ‘spare’ me.”

“Eh? What did you say?”

Due to the whipping wind and the intense sound of hoofbeats, Brody didn’t understand Aidan’s mumble and questioned him.

Aidan looked down at Brody.

Her curly hair, tied in one, fluttered wildly above her flushed face intensified by the chase.

Aidan pulled her closer and said.

“Ah, I said, thanks for sparing me.”

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
