‘What to do with that?’

Was it really a teleportation stone?

She didn’t want to keep it and felt uneasy about leaving it. What if someone picked it up and activated it?

‘It’s not funny. No matter how tough it is to live in the North, why would I go there? What brought me to the North?’

Brody shivered.

What Brody had already experienced was too vividly horrific. The sensations and memories from that time were still too fresh. Was there room for reconsideration? She couldn’t comprehend why the princess would even appear before her with such confidence.

If the princess had tried to persuade her, it might have been different.

‘Maile in the novel really was like an angel.’

If she had met the princess right after arriving in this world, she might have been persuaded.

Brody recalled Maile, who had just appeared before her, once again.

‘Is this what the protagonist buff feels like?’

Her appearance was flawlessly beautiful in every way. Plus, that dazzling golden hair. It was indeed a novel worthy of the title ‘Blondes Are Like the Sun.’

Didn’t some research say that a beautiful appearance made a person seem more sincere?

She remembered reading a tweet in her previous life.

‘Something about a handsome man entering a 15th-floor office without an ID, and people let him in by scanning theirs.’

“……”

Having thought this far, Brody shook her head violently to dispel the thoughts.

No, what was the point of mulling over her looks?

She felt pathetic for repeatedly thinking about and recalling the princess’s appearance.

‘Am I that weak for looks… The entanglement with the princess started like that…’

If Ian had not been her type, on her first day here, such… incidents would not have occurred.

If she hadn’t kissed him, his headaches wouldn’t have changed, and he wouldn’t have come to catch her the next day.
‘No. It wasn’t like that in my previous life. So, it’s not like there were celebrity-level looks around me. It can’t be just any appearance. So, is it because of the appearance? But it’s too beautiful. It’s like a scam!’

Anyway… that was really dangerous. If the point of possession had been a little earlier or a little later… I might have been inevitably entangled with the princess.

Either way, without Ian, Brody was at high risk. Ironically.

“Brody.”

‘Ah! You startled me!’

Brody was utterly shocked by the face of a young man appearing with a knock on the window.

Fortunately, she didn’t scream out loud. Isn’t it strange to be so startled just because someone called you suddenly?

The owner of that face was Ian, the man Brody had just been thinking about.

After a 1 or 2-second gap, Brody responded, ‘Yes?’

But Brody’s gaze did not turn toward Ian. No, it couldn’t.

She discovered an amber-colored gem rolling on the carriage floor, in her surprise.

‘Ah! Right! The magic stone!’

Brody quickly moved her gaze to the other side of the magic stone. Then, she ended up avoiding Ian’s eyes.

“…….”

Ian silently observed her.

‘He must have been very angry last night.’

Endless regrets swirled inside him.

If he could now have a quiet moment in a secret place where no one could see, he would have slapped his own head.

‘I’m crazy. I’ve gone mad.’

There were no words to say when thinking about yesterday.

Brody also had complicated feelings.

‘Why? Why isn’t he saying anything? Did he notice something? Is that why he came to inquire?’

It was a disconcerted feeling, but for an entirely different reason than Ian.

It was not something she should hide from Ian about being with the princess just now. But the timing was not good for telling.

If the appearance of the princess was startling, shouldn’t she have screamed to alert everyone? Why would she have a calm conversation with her and receive the magic stone? The princess was the most threatening person to Brody.

There was a delayed reason, but it was awkward to explain. Who would believe if she said she thought she was dreaming?

Given Brody’s background, the seed of suspicion could sprout in an instant.

‘I believe Ian would trust me.’

It was not a situation where she could talk secretly to Ian alone.

Brody, with her complex feelings, glanced aside. She looked to gauge his intentions as his silence lengthened.

Fortunately, his cool, expressionless face showed no particular emotion.

Only when Brody looked at him did Ian finally speak.

“The sun is about to set soon. The road is blocked because of the snow, so we’re going to camp out tonight.”

“Ah, I see. What? Wait, camp out?”

Relieved that it wasn’t about the princess but about camping, Brody recognized the words and widened her eyes like a rabbit.

Camp out? While it’s snowing like this? Are you going to sleep outside?

Ian nodded his head heavily, as if uncomfortable.

If he reacts like that, there must be no other way.

“Yes, got it. Thank you for letting me know.”

If there was no way, it was an issue to endure.

Brody narrowed her startled eyes and nodded.

Ian hesitated for a moment, then also nodded his head, and again distanced himself from the carriage.

As Ian moved away from the carriage, Brody quickly stretched out her foot. Swish. And she pulled the amber-colored magic stone lying in the corner of the carriage with her toes.

After a quick glance around, she leaned her upper body at an angle.

She felt the texture of the magic stone through a handkerchief. Fortunately, it seemed there was no effect just by touching it.
Brody had reasoned that the magic stone wouldn’t activate just by touching it, or else she would have been teleported to the royal palace the moment Princess Lise Marsen threw it to her.

Brody carefully placed the wrapped magic stone into the pocket attached to her belt.

‘Phew.’

Fortunately, the carriage was quiet inside and out. Breathing a short sigh of relief, Brody realized she had not been discovered.

She decided to keep the magic stone until she had a moment to speak privately with Aidan.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
