The grand cathedral hall was packed with wedding guests.

To the left of the red carpet stretching all the way to the dais sat knights in uniform, while mages in formal robes occupied the right side.

Adding to the splendor were nobles who had personal ties or close friendships with either family.

Since it was still pre-ceremony, the hall buzzed with chatter as guests gathered in small groups.

“Seeing all these knights swarming around, I swear I can practically smell sweat.”

“Look at those swords hanging from their waists. To bring weapons even to a place like this—what uncivilized brutes.”

“Those scholars must really stay cooped up indoors all day. How come their skin is so ghostly pale?”

“Tsk tsk, no wonder they lack social graces and end up committing all sorts of bizarre acts.”

Knights and mages, who rarely interacted otherwise, exchanged sneers and gossip while sizing each other up. Disapproving glances flickered through the air.

This soon turned into talk about the wedding’s main protagonists.

“Aracila said she won’t resign from the Mage Tower even after marriage, right? What on earth is she thinking?”

“I don’t know. At least let’s hope she doesn’t regret marrying a knight later on.”

“She called me a dumb noodle-head, yet she’s the one acting foolishly when it comes to her own life.”

Sally and Rudy, who had come to attend the wedding of their respected senior, narrowed their eyes sharply at those speaking ill of Aracila.

Realizing the two were Aracila’s direct juniors, the gossipers promptly shut their mouths.
