At today’s welcoming banquet, there were no separate chairs for the Emperor and Empress. It was to meet the Emperor of a nation of equal status without creating any contention over seating arrangements.

I didn’t want any squabbles over where people sat.

Similarly, to avoid unnecessary power struggles, Enrique and I, along with the Emperor and Empress of the desert nation, decided to enter the banquet hall simultaneously.

“The great rulers of the two empires enter!”

I had instructed the doormen to use this phrase to introduce the imperial couples.

In diplomacy, even a single word matters. A fight could break out over who was introduced first.

‘But lumping everyone together like this avoids needless disputes.’

I genuinely wondered why Helene was confident enough to undertake such an important banquet.

She didn’t seem meticulous enough to consider every little detail.

“Wonderful! Is this a recreation of the land of warriors from our myths?”

The desert nation’s Emperor, Kalik, appeared to be a genial man.

His long, jet-black hair, angular jaw, and sharp eyes were adorned with gold ornaments, suggesting he enjoyed dressing up.

He was quite sociable, generously giving compliments and not hiding his amazement.

However, I hadn’t forgotten that he had sent his brother to infiltrate our nation.

‘Pretending to be noble, are you?’

Though I wanted to scoff, I expertly concealed my expression and responded.

“I’m glad you noticed.”

“Such grand hospitality, truly moving. I thought you’d flaunt your ways.”

“Isn’t it right to decorate in a way that pleases our guests?”

“That’s exactly my thought! But do you have warriors’ drink, too?”

“Of course. The streams are filled with honey champagne. Quench your thirst to your heart’s content.”

As Kalik and I conversed, Enrique remained silent.

He seemed somewhat shocked by the banquet hall’s appearance, unable to find words.

‘Hmph.’

I snorted and took a glass brought by a servant, dipping it under the waterfall. It quickly filled with golden liquid.

“Ha ha! That’s very witty! Delightful!”

“How amusing, dear.”

Helene, having overheard these exchanges, was left speechless, unable to utter a word.
Kalik laughed heartily and followed my lead by filling his glass. Other guests from the desert nation also grabbed glasses or plucked grapes to eat.

In contrast, the nobles of Nyx were more reserved.

“The taste is incredible. According to our mythology, warriors live eternally in paradise after death. In that paradise, there’s honey-scented wine and fruits in abundance, just like here.”

“It’s thoughtful of you to respect our mythology and decorate the banquet hall this way, despite Nyx’s monotheistic beliefs. We are grateful.”

As the desert emperor and his wife expressed their satisfaction, Nyx’s nobles began to murmur.

“Was the Empress always so knowledgeable?”

“Knowing another country’s mythology and planning a banquet around it is impressive.”

“But replicating a foreign mythology, that’s something the Saintess would never do.”

“Exactly, because our and their mythologies are so different.”

“And the Church doesn’t acknowledge other gods. If the Saintess had been in charge, it might have caused a diplomatic issue. The Empress foresaw that, perhaps?”

Ah, how sweet it is.

I listened to the nobles’ whispers and smiled subtly.

There was no need for me to boast about myself.

Others would do it for me.

‘I wonder when they will reveal their true intentions. Hopefully, my stamina will hold up until then.’

Considering various factors, I could last about four hours in the banquet hall.

Any longer would be too much without a place to sit.

But since the banquet started late, four hours would bring us to midnight.

By then, the guests would be tired and likely retire to bed, and Helene couldn’t do much even if I left the hall.

‘I wish they’d hurry and tell us why they’ve come all this way after receiving a divine revelation.’

With these thoughts, I slowly turned my head.

At the end of my gaze was Helene.

Clearly deflated, she wasn’t smiling or wearing her annoyingly smug expression.

‘But who is she looking at like that… Ah.’

It was him.

Helene wasn’t looking at Enrique but… at him.

“You seem to like him.”

Just then.

Male lead is a clingy little husband

One-line summary: The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

Introduction:

One day, Lu Yuner’s soul transmigrates into a female-dominant world. She enters the Imperial Academy and takes up the position of a doctoral instructor, teaching classes and grading schoolwork.

One day, she encounters the young prince Su Qingwan secretly skipping class from the male academy.

As a result, Su Qingwan is punished.

From then on, Su Qingwan sees Lu Yuner as a “thorn in his side”.

But before long, this “thorn” becomes the person he cherishes most, and he goes to great lengths to win Lu Yuner’s affection.

Mini scene 1:

One day, the sun is high in the sky but Su Qingwan still hasn’t gotten up for class.

Servant Xiaoyuan: “Young prince, it’s time for class. You’ll be late otherwise.”

Su Qingwan says arrogantly: “I’m not going. I am the esteemed prince, my status is so noble, why should I suffer this hardship? Besides, isn’t learning all this just to please women? Hmph, they’re not worthy!”

Mini scene 2:

After Su Qingwan falls for someone, he completely changes. He no longer skips class and diligently learns how to be a good husband and father. But he discovers that Sister Yuner is always surrounded by admirers.

Drunk and overcome with jealousy one day, he clings to Lu Yuner, crying beautifully like a pear blossom in the rain.

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan likes Sister Yuner.”

Lu Yuner: “Young prince, you’re drunk.”

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan isn’t drunk. Qingwan likes Sister Yuner, likes you so much, likes you to bits…” Before he can finish, Lu Yuner’s eyes flash with emotion and she leans in closer.

[Reading Guide]

1. The female lead is gentle, gracious, humble and polite but not weak. The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

2. 1v1, a bit torturous in the beginning but definitely sweet later on.
