The Duke's Flower is Precarious (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 17
Now, with next week’s grand ducal wedding fast approaching, final preparations were in full swing.
Along the edge of the Great Hall in the Grand Ducal Residence, a massive table draped in violet velvet had been set up. Servants bustled about, hurriedly transferring the newly arrived goods onto it.
These were lavish wedding gifts sent not only by the prominent noble houses of the Jupiter Empire but also from neighboring empires, all to celebrate the marriage of the Grand Duke and his fiancée, the future Grand Duchess.
Exquisite porcelain, tableware crafted from pure gold and silver, and ornaments adorned with crystal and gemstones were displayed. Sets of precious jewels—including diamonds, sapphires, and rubies—were packed neatly in ornate boxes.
“Handle that carefully—it’s fragile.”
Marline supervised the moving of items, while Gregory checked off the list of arrivals.
“I expected it to be impressive, but this is extraordinary.”
Gregory murmured in quiet awe, his mouth slightly agape. He gently shook his head, already thinking about the thank-you letters they’d need to send out so soon after distributing the invitations—and yet, a deeply satisfied smile curled at the corners of his lips.
“It seems we’re receiving even more gifts now that Lady Aidel is here at the Grand Ducal Residence. After all these years, this day has finally come.”
Marline’s cheeks flushed visibly as she quietly dabbed at her eyes, her voice thick with emotion. She had worried endlessly that the Grand Duke might remain a bachelor his whole life.
‘If only Her Late Majesty the Empress Dowager could see this…’
Marline’s expression darkened as she thought of the Empress Dowager, pressing a hand firmly against her chest. Kaeron, whom she had cared for since his days as a prince, had never been overly expressive—but he hadn’t been this cold either.
‘It must have started then…’
It was after the Empress Dowager passed away. From that moment on, the Grand Duke changed, as if everything bestowed upon him had lost all meaning. The boy who had been trained since childhood to become emperor became someone else entirely.
At only fourteen, a prodigy so brilliant that his tutors in imperial studies declared they had nothing left to teach him, he refused the title of Crown Prince.

Can’t wait for second prince to die . How dare he touch grand Duchess with his filthy hand.
I hope Kareon kills first prince . But maybe that’s not going to happen because of diplomatic relations between kingdoms. If at that moment aidel would have remained unconscious ,second prince definitely would have died .It’s unfortunate , that bastard should have died on spot.
I am blushing even though I don’t know what withdrawal symptoms is.
