The Newiton Empire, having engulfed numerous territories through countless wars, had many nobles with titles, each with diverse histories.

Among them, the Gwendhill Duchy, the only Grand Duchy of the empire, was special.

As long as this symbiotic relationship was maintained, the Newiton Emperor permitted any behavior from the Gwendhill family, barring treason.

On the other hand, envy and murmurs against the Gwendhill family, favored by the Emperor and backed by the royal family, secretly grew more intense.

The Gwendhill family had everything and seemed to have no weaknesses. Naturally, as time passed, the power and prestige of the Gwendhill family grew.

Yes, that was the reason.

Admiration and aspiration were the lot of commoners.

Aren’t ambition, envy, and jealousy the portion of nobles, who want to stand shoulder to shoulder, or even climb on top?

The nobles united in their purpose.

The primal human desire for more power and wealth. The emotionless ghost, known as the Grand Duke Gwendhill, was an evil beyond his comprehension.

As the end of the long war finally seemed in sight, the noble faction of the Newiton Empire grew anxious.

While the Grand Duke was at war, the noble faction had smoothly taken control of the power structure and was now tightly united to maintain it.

The sordid plot of the noble faction, who had been fattening their purses regardless of the war, silently progressed below the surface.

Five years ago, with the annexation of the Criannet Kingdom, the Newiton Empire had declared a massive war, which now finally seemed to be ending.

“Commander, are we returning to the Grand Duchy now?”

“Hey, what commander! You should say Supreme Commander!”

“I’ve been calling him commander since I was a kid, it’s stuck in my mouth.”

The Newiton Imperial Army was excited about returning home.

Thanks to the leadership of Grand Duke Gwendhill, they had survived numerous battles.

Especially the knights of the Gwendhill family and citizens of the Grand Duke’s territory, who made up more than half of the Imperial Army, felt a renewed sense of emotion.

“Thanks to the Supreme Commander, all the wounded soldiers can return home alive.”

“The Grand Duke’s family even provided expensive potions for ordinary soldiers to use.”

Contrary to what was known to the public, the reputation of Leodelt Gwendhill, the Grand Duke within the imperial army, was excellent.

The Grand Duke respected the dignity of each soldier, regardless of rank or status, and valued their lives.
Always expressionless and of few words, with an unapproachable aura, yet none of the soldiers doubted the Grand Duke’s character.

“Enough. Maintain strict vigilance until we reach the capital.”

“Yes, Commander!”

Leodelt’s gaze quietly settled as he watched the joyous and relieved Imperial Army.

Crossing the impressive Hav Mountain with its giant waterfall would bring them near the boundary of the Newiton Empire.

Throb, throb.

“Where are you going, Commander?”

“Do I need to report my every move?”

“No, sir, my apologies for speaking out of turn.”

Leodelt ignored the glances from soldiers of other families and continued on his path.

His teal eyes flickered as he looked beyond the daunting cliff created by the waterfall.

“……It’s vast.”

The view from the cliff above Hav Mountain Waterfall was breathtakingly spectacular. The wide and fertile lands stretched as far as the eye could see.

Once he delivers the news of victory to the Emperor, that boundary line will extend even further.

“It’s expanding.”

Leodelt concealed a self-deprecating smile.

The capital would be busy preparing for the homecoming ceremony.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
