Sharty glanced at the exchanging looks between the soldiers and gripped her bag strap tightly. She wanted to finish treating them quickly and return home.

“Hurry up.”

Urged by the soldiers, Sharty arrived at the village after a while.

“The owner stays here. Only the doctor comes with us.”

As soon as Sharty stepped into Petricia’s inn, she wrinkled her nose.

There was a strong odor.

‘A sleeping scent… no, this is a sleeping poison.’

It made sense why they left Petricia, the inn owner, outside.

The village had many sleeping drugs made and sold by Sharty. Yet, the soldiers had deliberately used their own potent sleeping poison, strong enough to cause dizziness and unsteadiness in ordinary people.

“Hmm. She must be a real doctor. She’s walking straight.”

As expected, the soldier guiding Sharty sneered. The soldiers’ faces had been grim since entering the inn.

After some thought, Sharty handed them a note.

“See for yourself.”

The tall soldier gestured, and the following soldiers simultaneously opened all the inn rooms.

“……!”

Sharty stiffened at the sight of the rooms.

Apart from the few soldiers who had come to fetch her, the rest were lying on the beds, groaning in pain.

Sharty hurried to check on the injured.

‘These aren’t wounds from a bear.’

They were not injuries from the claws and teeth of a sharp predator.

Rather, they were long and sharp from a weapon.

‘They’re cuts and stabs from a sword.’

And it seemed they were inflicted not to kill, but merely to wound in various places.

“Can you treat them?”

The tall soldier who had guided Sharty, Tristan, scratched his head vigorously.
He was asking about the soldiers who were in the worst condition.

“These are the new recruits in our unit. We have to save them. Otherwise, I don’t know what to tell their families…”

Tristan’s expression turned ferociously grim.

It wasn’t unusual to face unavoidable situations and get injured during a search. However, the faces of all the soldiers were stern.

Sharty didn’t want to know the detailed truth she had guessed.

‘But I have a responsibility too.’

There didn’t seem to be any injuries caused by the bear she had lured, but she must have influenced what happened afterward.

Although the presence of the soldiers was still frightening, Sharty couldn’t ignore the injured before her eyes.

The soldiers, filled with hope, looked a bit relieved.

First, Sharty rolled up the cumbersome long and wide sleeves of her robe. A burn scar running from her left hand to her arm was revealed, but she didn’t mind.

The soldiers moved efficiently, following Sharty’s brisk instructions.

Sharty, too, moved ceaselessly despite her slender figure barely concealed by the thick, long robe.

It was natural for the soldiers, who had only ever applied ointments and bandaged a few times, to struggle to keep up with Sharty’s pace.

By the time the sleeping poison in the air had thinned, the soldiers’ attitude had changed.

“Doctor! We’ve given the medicine you provided to those in the other room.”

“Over here! Please come here, Doctor!”

They naturally raised their address and attached honorifics. The soldiers who had looked at her with suspicion were nowhere to be seen.

Watching the hot sweat droplets falling inside her robe, she felt solemn.

‘What to do, I’m short-handed.’

The heat inside the robe and her elevated concentration rapidly drained Sharty’s energy.

By the time the stitching of the wounds was almost complete, her left fingers trembled briefly.

‘Although Petricia and other villagers are helping now that the sleeping poison has cleared…’

Sharty needed someone knowledgeable in herbs.

Specifically, a doctor who could prescribe properly.

‘Hmm, should I bring it up?’

There was only one doctor in this village, Sharty. However, there was a child who dreamed of becoming a doctor in the future.

Sharty used a brief moment to find Petricia.

“Eh? Why, Sha? Do you need something?”

Petricia, possibly calculating the inn charges for the soldiers, asked while tapping on a calculator.

Petricia looked perplexedly at Sharty, who wanted to meet Tein amidst the busy situation.

“Ah. Then we should call the herbal shop owner. Why bother Bireta’s grandson?”
Sharty hesitated to write more on the note.

In the village, Tein was just a smart kid. No one paid attention to the intelligence of a 7-year-old.

‘I should move more instead of this.’

Sharty sighed and turned back to work.

Just then, Tristan, who had taken off his armor to diligently wipe off the blood, approached.

“Whom are you looking for?”

His tone was polite. Sharty shook her head with a slightly bewildered expression.

At that moment, Petricia interrupted from behind.

“Sha must be really tired and wanted to rest. Why would she ask for a child?”

Sharty started to object but stopped at Petricia’s laughing words.

Observing Sharty, Tristan set down the bucket of water.

“Is there a specific child you need to bring? Is it necessary?”

“…….”

Sharty hesitated and then nodded slightly.

“Understood. Innkeeper, what are you doing? Bring the child the doctor is looking for.”

“What? Oh, yes, umm…….”

Petricia nodded reluctantly and left the inn.

Sharty glanced at the soldier. Her expression wasn’t much different from Petricia’s.

Feeling her gaze, Tristan wiped the sweat from his forehead and coughed.

“I never hoped to find a doctor in this village. At that time, I was desperate enough to even seek a child’s help…….”

Tristan was the oldest among the soldiers who had come to the village.

Sharty understood his attitude when he had first come to the log house.

The fear and anger of possibly losing all his comrades, yet still clinging to a glimmer of hope, he had to climb the tiresome mountain again. His attitude was sharp, swept away by urgency and anxiety.

Tristan smiled awkwardly at Sharty’s note.

“Then I trust your judgment. A promising future bud, assured by an outstanding doctor.”

However, Petricia returned alone shortly after.

“He’s been out since early morning?”

It was obvious, but the usual haunts for Tein were not around the house, nor the village playground, nor the alleys. Was there any child as good at climbing mountains as Tein?

‘…No, couldn’t be. Surely not.’

She hadn’t even given him any homework that would require him to climb the mountain for a while.

Tein, educated by Bireta, was quick-witted. He was not a child who would create trouble for Sharty.

But the quiet, old log house in the forest.

An unwanted encounter had already taken place.

“Patient, sir!”

“…….”

The man who should have been hiding. And the child who shouldn’t have been with him.

In the midst of a complicated situation, the man rubbed his forehead.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
