Herdin, who had been greeting the guests at the banquet, spotted a familiar face among them.

“Count Felton.”

He was the nobleman who had attended last spring’s banquet—Blair’s first as Duchess—accompanied by his heavily pregnant wife.

Now, by his side stood his wife and their young daughter, who bore a striking resemblance to both parents.

He had always had a gentle demeanor, but within a year, his face had grown noticeably brighter as he offered his greeting.

“Thank you for inviting us, Your Grace.”

“The pleasure is mine. I’m grateful that even young Lady Felton has graced us with her presence.”

The child, nestled in her father’s arms, seemed to realize they were talking about her and stared intently at Herdin.

‘I wonder if she’s shy around strangers, like Asiel.’

Just as Herdin thought this, having noticed the child’s gaze, she suddenly burst into laughter and clapped her hands after watching him for a while.

Surprised by this unexpected reaction, Herdin looked at the child with fascination and said,

“Young Lady Felton seems quite sociable. I’d heard children her age are usually very shy around strangers.”

Yet Count Felton himself, the girl’s father, appeared flustered—as if seeing his daughter behave this way for the first time.

“No, she’s normally so shy she hides away… This is quite surprising.”

As the two men exchanged puzzled glances, Countess Felton, who had been quietly watching her daughter beside them, chimed in with a smile.
