Having distanced himself from Ivan, Herdin quickly scanned the banquet hall. Blair was nowhere to be seen.

‘She said she needed some fresh air—could she have gone to the garden?’

Just as Herdin was about to step into the corridor, Ruth approached him with a rather serious expression.

“Your Grace. This may be presumptuous, but there’s something I wish to ask about your intentions.”

“What is it?”

“Why haven’t you publicly addressed the incident from ten years ago yet?”

Herdin hesitated at Ruth’s question.

“You’ve already gathered all the evidence and testimonies, haven’t you?”

“I understand it must be painful for Lady Blair. But no matter how much you deny or avoid it, you’ll eventually have to face it.”

“At this point, it would be better in the long run to resolve this quickly and separate Lady Blair from the imperial court.”

Ruth, who had been waiting at one side of the banquet hall, had kept an eye on Blair’s complexion throughout the evening. Even from a distance, her expression toward Katrina and Ivan looked far from pleasant.
