The Duke Only Needs My Child (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
Blair stood on the outer side of the balcony railing, looking as if she might fall at any moment.
Blair, too, seemed quite flustered—clearly not having expected Rina to enter the room.
Seizing the opportunity, Rina dashed forward and grabbed Blair’s waist firmly.
“No! You can’t do it!”
“Rina, wait! Hey, just—let go of me for a moment…”
“No! I won’t let go! If Your Highness says you’re going to die, then I’ll die with you!”
“It’s not like that…”
“No! I won’t listen to anything you say until you come back inside! Please, hurry in!”
Eventually, Rina began sobbing loudly while still clutching Blair tightly, dragging her back as if hauling up a massive fish.
“How could you leave me behind and go off alone! Absolutely not! If you’re really going to have such awful thoughts, kill me first before you go!”
“It’s not what you think… It’s only the second floor, so…”
But Rina, sniffling through tears and snot, didn’t seem to hear a word. Blair had no choice but to stand still and absorb the girl’s tears.
After a long while, Rina finally calmed down enough to ask Blair,
“But… why would you even think of doing something like that…?”
Her voice still carried the nasal tone of someone who’d just been crying.
Blair scratched her cheek awkwardly and explained,
“It’s not what you’re imagining. I just had somewhere secret I needed to go.”
Only then did Rina notice the cloth tied to the balcony railing—a makeshift rope carefully braided from bed sheets inside the room.
Rina gasped.
“Oh no! That’s reckless! What if you fell and got hurt?”
“It’s only the second floor. There are shrubs below.”
Blair sounded confident, as though she’d meticulously planned it herself, but Rina, who had watched over Blair for so long, knew better.
Her beloved princess, though demure in appearance, occasionally did reckless things.
Rina sighed, pressing a hand to her forehead, then suddenly remembered something and asked,
“By the way… where exactly were you planning to go at this hour of the night…?”
Instead of answering, Blair simply smiled at Rina’s question—a dazzlingly beautiful yet somehow ominous smile.
[This is the timeline separator]“Is this…?”
Rina’s eyes widened as she peered out the carriage window.
The place they’d arrived at after slipping away from the duke’s mansion with Blair was the Guild District, tucked away in the back alleys of the capital.
Pulling her hood over her head, Blair opened the carriage door and said,
“I’ll be right back.”
“If you’re not out in thirty minutes, I really will come looking for you. Seriously!”
Since Blair had repeatedly warned her during the carriage ride that she couldn’t accompany her inside the guild, Rina reluctantly backed down despite her threats.
After stepping down from the hired carriage, Blair stood before a particular guild building.
Guild Revelus.
Among countless guilds, this information guild was famed for gathering intelligence like no other.
Blair took a deep breath and stepped inside the guild hall.
At first glance, the interior looked like an ordinary tavern. But the moment Blair entered, the previously boisterous guild fell silent as if doused with cold water.
They scanned the room for an unwelcome guest who clearly didn’t belong.
Though the woman wore a hooded robe hiding her face, her sharp nose and faintly visible reddish lips revealed her undeniable beauty.
A burly middle-aged man who had been scrutinizing Blair slammed his beer mug down with a thud and called out,
“Hey! Who invited their sweetheart into the guild? Step forward and confess!”
“Oh! That must be my sweetheart.”
“What are you talking about? She looks just like my wife!”
The men teased each other, claiming Blair as their own woman. Even their snickering laughter felt frightening to Blair.
Having grown up as a pampered princess, she’d never encountered such groups of men openly displaying their raw, unfiltered nature.
But if she’d intended to run away scared, she wouldn’t have come here in the first place.
Ignoring them, Blair walked straight toward the bar at the center of the guild.
However, the drunken men, unwilling to let go of their rare eye candy so easily, blocked her path.

“Hey there, pretty lady. What brings you to this place?”
“I’ve come to see the master.”
“Our master’s too busy for trivial matters. How about talking to us big brothers instead? We’ll get it done reliably—and cheaply.”
“Have a drink and tell us slowly. What trouble could our little beauty possibly have that made her come here alone, into this den of scoundrels?”
One man, too drunk to steady himself, slung an arm around Blair’s shoulders and pressed close. The stench of alcohol and his unfamiliar warmth sent chills down her spine.
Calmly, Blair removed his arm and placed a ring in his hand.
“Go fetch the master.”
“Hah!”
The man, already flushed red from drink, let out an incredulous snort.
He was furious—completely ignored, then handed a gem as if being treated like a servant.
“Who do you think we are, stray dogs you can bribe with money to wag our tails?”
He spat out the words, raising his voice. His large frame and booming tone alone were intimidating enough.
But Blair didn’t step back.
No—she couldn’t.
Not when her future of undertaking a guild mission alongside Asiel hung in the balance.
Instinctively clenching her trembling hands to hide them, Blair faced the man.
“You’ve worked this trade long enough to know better than anyone how to act. Surely you understand how foolish it is to slit open the goose that lays golden eggs.”
Their eyes met through the gap in her hood, and the man flinched. From this delicate woman’s gaze radiated an inexplicable, undeniable pressure.
It wasn’t just him—other guild members watching nearby also sensed the shift in atmosphere and exchanged wary glances.
Regardless of anything else, the woman’s bold demeanor convinced them she was a high-value client they absolutely couldn’t afford to lose.
One of the guild members who had been exchanging glances quickly headed upstairs and returned shortly with another man.
“Did you ask to see me, miss?”
Blair glanced at him once and spoke.
“No. I wish to speak with the master.”
“I am the master of Revelus.”
“Is deceiving clients like this the standard practice of Revelus?”
As she spoke, Blair’s gaze shifted toward the bartender wiping glasses behind the counter.
He was a handsome man with kind features, curly brown hair, and green eyes.
“I wish to place a commission with the master of Revelus.”
The man’s eyes, behind his round glasses, flickered briefly in surprise before he smiled, clearly amused.
“May I ask how you knew?”
“When I asked for the master, everyone else glanced sideways at you to gauge your reaction—but you just kept listening.”
“Sharp eyes you have.”
The man gave Blair a gentle smile, then glanced pointedly at his subordinates who’d been caught sneaking those sideways glances. They quickly averted their eyes.
Setting down his glass, the man stepped out from behind the bar.
“Shall we move to a different room?”
Blair followed him upstairs to a private chamber. The room he led her to was an ordinary, empty space.
Once alone, the man bowed politely.
“Allow me to formally introduce myself, Your Grace. I am Mikhail Kines.”
Blair stiffened. He knew her true identity without her ever revealing it. But then again, if the head of an information guild didn’t recognize the imperial princess’s face, that would be even more suspicious.
“So… that scene earlier was you testing me on purpose.”
“I wanted to see just how desperate you were. Those who seek me out despite the danger are always willing to pay accordingly. If I offended you, I apologize.”
“It’s fine. It only shows you’re confident in delivering excellent results.”
Despite Mikhail’s audacity in testing her—a princess and duchess of the realm—Blair replied calmly.
Yet beneath her gentle tone and gaze lay steel wrapped in grace: an effortless display of authority tempered with magnanimity.
‘So she was born noble to her very core.’
Mikhail smiled faintly and answered her.
“Revelus will surely live up to your trust. Now, may I hear the details of your commission? The more specific you are, the better I can assist you in achieving your goal.”
At the mention of the commission, a light sparked in Blair’s violet eyes, which had remained calm until now.
“My commission consists of three tasks.”

As she said “three,” Blair raised three fingers—a habit she’d developed while talking with Asiel, though Mikhail, unaware of this, found the gesture rather endearing.
“Entrusting us with three tasks already? Revelus shall surely grow wealthier.”
It was a boast born of absolute confidence in never failing a mission.
Blair laid out her requests.
“First, secure a small villa near Azenta, the capital of Clania Kingdom, for me. And a new identity to live under, discarding this name.”
She didn’t plan to stay in one place long-term, but carrying a child made constant travel difficult, so she intended to remain in Azenta until Asiel’s birth.
‘Being the capital, Azenta will make it easy to find skilled physicians and obtain necessary supplies.’
Hearing this, Mikhail was inwardly astonished.
The princess wished to discard her name—meaning she intended to leave the ducal house as well.
He was curious about her reasons, but knew it wasn’t his place to pry.
“Second, I need four or five men to become entangled with me in a scandal. Trustworthy individuals who can keep secrets would be ideal.”
“In that case, perhaps I should involve myself as one of them—to report progress periodically. Would that be acceptable?”
“As long as you’re willing.”
Blair nodded readily. Having the guild master himself participate would certainly be reliable.
Mikhail smiled faintly.
“Then, when would you like the scandal to break?”
With just one sentence, Mikhail had already grasped her entire plan. His professionalism made communication refreshingly efficient.
“In about six months.”
“I’ll prepare as quickly as possible. And what is your final request?”
Blair pulled a note from her inner pocket and handed it to him. Drawn on the paper was a crest—the same one engraved on the dagger of the assailant who had killed her in her previous life.
“I want you to find whoever possesses a dagger bearing this crest.”
Mikhail studied the crest on the note carefully before tucking it into his own pocket.
“I’ll do my utmost to provide you with the answers you seek as soon as possible.”
After concluding their conversation, Blair descended to the first floor.
The subordinates, who had vaguely guessed her status from Mikhail’s deference toward her, finally bowed deeply in unison.
Blair left the guild without acknowledging their escort. At that very moment, the shadow that had been watching her vanished.

Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
