A sense of impatience rapidly overtook him. An intensely fevered heat rose, making his entire breathing passage hot. Johannes tried to breathe softly. Inette asked nonchalantly, seemingly unaware or uncaring that she was being gradually drawn in. Johannes, trying to remain calm, answered sincerely and meticulously.

“Liar.”

“If it were truly a lie, I’d be glad too.”
