Their giggling laughter among themselves sent chills down the spine.

‘Found it!’
She hurled two round smoke bombs forcefully onto the ground.

Killion’s legs started moving again.
Even carrying Veronica, his speed didn’t drop at all, and his breathing remained steady.
They ran and ran, yet the forest’s edge where their horses were tied remained unseen.
Even Veronica, unfamiliar with the forest terrain, realized they were looping in circles.
Finally recognizing the gravity of the situation, Killion stopped.
“Those scoundrels… They’ve even set up a barrier. Quite thorough preparation.”
“I never thought… they’d go this far.”
Veronica was speechless.
