Eun-su was taken aback by the unexpected appearance of the housekeeper.
She was momentarily startled, but she smiled more brightly than ever at the sight of a familiar face she hadn’t seen in a long time.
“How did you find out about this place?”
“The vice-president asked me to come.”
“Do you mean Hyuk-ju?”
“Yes. He suddenly called a few days ago and asked me to look after the madam.”
“He didn’t mention anything to me.”
She remembered Hyuk-ju constantly talking to someone on the phone. She had seen this behavior when they lived together and didn’t think much of it.
She assumed he was just busy with his work.
“The vice-president has always been someone who doesn’t show his feelings on the outside. But he has a deep heart.”

“Is that so?”
“Yes, especially that day…”
The housekeeper, once full of laughter, suddenly teared up. From her words, Eun-su realized she was referring to the day her mother passed away.
She had always known that day would come eventually, but her mother’s sudden passing still caught Eun-su off guard.
If not for Hyuk-ju, she would have felt overwhelmed and unsure of what to do.
Thanks to Hyuk-ju, she was able to send her mother off peacefully.
The housekeeper also knew about this, which is why she commented on Hyuk-ju’s deep affection.
“I’ve heard about it, not in detail though.”
“Yes?”
“Congratulations.”

“Oh…”
Eun-su blushed at the housekeeper’s congratulatory words.
“When I mentioned that I had someone to care for me starting next month, the vice-president said you weren’t alone. Hearing that almost made me cry.”
The housekeeper sniveled, murmuring to herself.
If the little angel had come just a bit sooner, how happy the late madam would have been.
“Oh, what was I thinking? It might be spring, but the sea breeze is cold. I shouldn’t have kept a pregnant woman outside for so long. Can we go in?”
“Of course.”
The two entered the house.
Dragging one of the large suitcases, the housekeeper headed straight to the kitchen.
Inside the suitcase she opened in front of the fridge were items tightly wrapped in plastic.

“I brought some varieties of kimchi and a few side dishes.”
“Didn’t you bring too much?”
“I wanted to bring more, but I held back. While we’re here, we can buy ingredients and cook.”
The housekeeper methodically stored the dishes in the refrigerator. After tidying up, she took a sip of water and looked around.
She then glanced at Eun-su’s still not noticeably pregnant belly and asked,
“How’s your morning sickness?”
“It’s not too bad, but sometimes I feel nauseated, as if I’m on a boat.”
“Oh, thank goodness. Looking at your face, it doesn’t seem severe. Some people can’t even drink water.”
“It’s not that bad for me, so I think I can manage.”
“In the future, let me know if there’s anything you want to eat. I used to work in a restaurant before caregiving, so I can cook well.”

The housekeeper said with her signature warm smile.
The previously quiet house became lively with her arrival. Eun-su had always enjoyed the housekeeper’s chatty nature even during their hospital days, so she didn’t mind.
Being with her always brought lots of laughter.
She guessed that’s probably why Hyuk-ju entrusted her to this particular housekeeper.
“Which room should I use?”
“I’m currently using this one on the right.”
Eun-su pointed to the room on the right. The housekeeper then quickly chose the inner room on the left after a brief hesitation.
“I’ll go tidy up my luggage a bit and come out.”
“Okay.”
The housekeeper went into the room she was to use. Left alone in the living room, Eun-su took out her cell phone and sent a message to Hyuk-ju.
She felt it was appropriate to thank him.

Because she was truly grateful.
While eating, Young-ran put down her spoon after a few bites.
Perhaps it was because she was eating alone, but she didn’t feel like eating at all. Even though nothing specifically hurt, her mouth felt dry.
“Does the food not suit your taste?”
Hee-jung, who was attending to Young-ran’s meal, asked with a somewhat tense voice.
“Just bring me a cup of tea in the study.”
With a slightly discontented expression, Young-ran sighed deeply and stood up from the dining table.
Watching Young-ran’s retreating figure, Hee-jung pursed her lips.
While Young-ran wasn’t a big eater, she usually ate whatever was served.
But now, she seemed as if she had resolved to stop eating altogether, which worried Hee-jung.

Of course, her concern was less about Young-ran and more about possibly losing her job.
She worried that Young-ran might suddenly ask her to leave in such a sensitive state.
Sighing heavily, Gwi-yeon, who had been standing behind, clicked her tongue.
“She hardly ate anything again today.”
“She ate even less than this morning. Maybe she doesn’t like what I made.”
“It’s not because we can’t cook. It’s just that the chairman is not in the mood. So, don’t be down.”
Gwi-yeon, who oversaw kitchen duties, had a calm demeanor unlike the downcast Hee-jung.
“But of course, meals alone might not taste that good.”
“Ah, exactly.”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
