“That woman has returned.”
At her husband’s words, Eun Soo was unable to respond.
Just a few minutes ago, they had shared each other’s warmth, making love like any other couple to conceive a child.
Her body was still hot. However, upon hearing her husband’s words, Eun Soo felt her entire body turn cold instantly.
“She contacted me last week.”
“……”
“I just want to help her.”
Eun Soo turned her head to look at her husband.
Underneath his thick eyebrows, his deepset eyes with faint double lids, his prominent nose bridge, and below that, his neat lips.
Her husband, Moon Hyuk Joo, was undoubtedly a handsome man.

He was the kind of man anyone passing by would take a second look at.
Had he felt that her gaze was lingering on him a bit too long?
Hyuk Joo spoke in his usual indifferent tone.
“I have no intention of getting a divorce.”
As if Eun Soo might worry about a divorce, her husband was quick to draw the line.
His unforgettable first love had returned, and while he wanted to help her, he declared that he would not divorce.
How selfish.
Eun Soo muttered to herself.
She should say, ‘If you want, we can divorce.’
“…… Let’s do that.”

The only words that came out of her mouth were of resignation.
She had no other choice.
The person who had insisted on this marriage, knowing that her husband had a love he could not forget, was Eun Soo herself.
‘I have a woman I love. I am still looking for her.’
In their first meeting, her husband had confirmed the rumors that were rife about him.
‘If you’re expecting something like love, it would be better if we act like our marriage never happened.’
He had declared that while he could marry, he couldn’t offer love.
The words he had said two years ago surfaced as vividly as if the events had just occurred.
And so, Eun Soo had no choice but to agree when her husband said he would meet that woman again.
After all, she had started this marriage knowing everything.

“Thank you for understanding.”
Her husband’s tone was indifferent, as if he had known she would react this way.
His gratitude felt colorless to that extent.
Eun Soo stared straight at her husband’s face.
“It’s not understanding……”
Feeling Eun Soo’s gaze on him, Hyuk Joo turned his head. Then, Eun Soo lifted the corners of her lips and smiled.
“I’m accepting it because I have to. I still need your money, after all.”
For a moment, Hyuk Joo’s eyes widened in surprise.
The reason she had married a man who loved another woman was for money. She was simply reminding him of that.
Her husband knew this fact better than anyone else.

That’s why he could nonchalantly say that his woman had returned and that he wouldn’t push her away.
Eun Soo couldn’t understand why he was looking at her like that.
She didn’t want to beg for love from a man who carried another woman in his heart.
“So don’t worry about me and take care of that woman.”
“Eun Soo.”
“All I need is to maintain my position as Mrs. Moon Hyuk Joo.”
Eun Soo donned the robe casually tossed at the end of the bed. Then, she quickly entered the bathroom.
She turned on the shower forcefully and sat down weakly at the end of the tub.
Oh, what to do.
Tears flowed.

Eun Soo clutched her wet face with her palms.
She had hoped that her husband’s woman would never appear.
Her motherinlaw had said that the woman had received a vast sum of money and left for a foreign country.
Of course, she would never return to Korea.
Especially after taking so much money.
Eun Soo had been so confident.
Could it be that she had run out of money?
If that was the case, she should have contacted me.
If so, I would have scraped together everything I had and begged her, while putting it into her hands, not to show up in front of my husband ever again…
“That wicked woman.”

Imagining the faceless woman, Eun Soo spat out the harshest curse she could within her abilities.
The woman of her husband had always trailed behind him like a shadow that wouldn’t disappear throughout their twoyear marriage.
When her halfcrazed with work husband would stand at the end of the dark living room after coming home late and stare out the window, Eun Soo would feel anxious.
She couldn’t even touch the back of her husband standing there for a long time.
She thought that if he turned his broad back, that woman would be deeply nestled in his arms. So, every time her husband did that, Eun Soo pretended not to see and turned away.
Time would make him forget.
That’s what she thought…
Only today did Eun Soo realize.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t possess even a grain of her husband’s heart.
How much she had wished her husband would look at her just once.

That desperate feeling deepened with each passing day, until she couldn’t carve it out.
Just like her husband carried that woman in his heart, Eun Soo carried her husband in her heart.
That’s why, standing in front of him now, she told him nonchalantly to meet that woman and then hid in the bathroom to cry.
“Ugh…”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
