“Everything is prepared, and as you instructed, everyone except the bare minimum has been dismissed.”

I stared out the window at the detached building. Duke Pierne was staying there.

“You’ve done well. I’ll call you if I need anything, so you may go now.”

“Yes, please feel free to summon me anytime if anything is inconvenient.”

After the butler left, I immediately surveyed the room.

Considering they were hosting someone of exceptional importance, Nagata’s security was surprisingly lax.

Or perhaps they were merely pretending to be.

Either way, one thing was certain: Duke Pierne’s time here would pass anxiously.

Though he might have succeeded in infiltrating the inner sanctum under the pretense of having aided me, navigating the fortress relying solely on outdated blueprints wouldn’t be easy.
