“Or perhaps it would be best to just go ahead and host a party.”

“A party?”

“Since debutante balls have become so outdated as to lose all meaning, it would be better to open a new venue for introductions. If you’re the one hosting the party yourself, a familiar place would be more comfortable than being invited as a guest.”

Margaret looked at the glittering ring on Liviana’s hand, which showed the same shallow consideration as ever—both in the past and now.

The large-diamond ring was a symbol declaring her status as Bake’s wife.

On the day Liviana wore that ring and made her betrothal vows with Bake, she had transformed from the most unfortunate woman into the one receiving the Empire’s greatest jewel through marriage.

Yet it was she herself—Margaret—who should have received that jewel.

“You really don’t need to go that far for me.”

“Nonsense. After everything you’ve done for me, this much is only natural.”

Apparently, even after losing her memory, Liviana’s condescending attitude toward those beneath her remained unchanged.

Margaret forced a smile, suppressing the bitter turmoil inside her.

Though etiquette dictated that a lady could speak informally to her maid, Margaret—already irritated—could not view even this as gracious.

“So, is a party finally being held at Crayton after such a long while?”

“A party at Crayton? We’ll surely be invited as well, right?”

“Of course you’ll be invited—though naturally, I’ll need to discuss it with him first.”
