“…May I help you?”

“I can do that much myself, you know.”

I deliberately let my voice trail off and blushed, causing Bake’s gaze to intensify further.

“We agreed to try our best. This is part of that effort, right?”

“…I-I suppose it’s fine. After all, we’re married.”

After hesitating for a moment, I nodded cautiously.

The instant my reply left my lips, Bake strode forward and stood behind me.

Without avoiding the shadow cast over me from above, I firmly interlaced my fingers.

The gloves brushing softly against the delicate skin of my shoulders were so exquisite they seemed as though they might melt away at any moment, and his touch was so gentle I barely felt it.
