Blood, steel, and cigar smoke.

Even though he was now with Liviana, Calix hadn’t changed much at all. He still exuded that same cold aura. Just as a nail driven long into a sword hilt, the scent ingrained into his body over years couldn’t be easily washed away.

Yet Calix wouldn’t draw his sword so easily. Not now, and not in the future.

Luzean deliberately pressed both corners of his lips downward with his index fingers, making them droop as pitifully as possible.

“You pretend not to know, even though you understand perfectly well.”

Just agreeing with him once wouldn’t hurt him, would it? Luzean grumbled and returned his lips to their usual position.
