She said it firmly, even while smiling. I frowned as I watched Pimir, who held up the syringe and flashed me a wide grin. Despite one eye swollen black and blue, she laughed as easily as ever.

“It hurts, but I’m fine.”

“My main profession is actually a physician, though I do fight when I have to. I can treat injuries like this myself.”

“Your main profession is a physician?”

“People usually call me Doctor Pim.”

I tilted my head, eyeing her muscular frame barely concealed by her lab coat. Trained as she clearly was, she looked far more like a soldier than a doctor.

“There are plenty of rough characters in the army. Dealing with them, I naturally picked up how to handle myself—and sometimes I’m even deployed in combat.”

Pimir quickly added this explanation upon noticing my gaze, but it still wasn’t enough for me to nod in agreement. Even I, completely ignorant of martial arts, could sense the aura of a true warrior about her—this wasn’t just someone who’d casually picked up a few moves.
