Calix grasped the protruding spring bar of the pocket watch.

The makeshift repair on the watch hadn’t secured the spring bar properly, so it would spin freely with even the slightest touch.

“If the item had legs, it might be possible.”

When Eden, who’d been silently listening until now, finally spoke, everyone’s eyes turned to him.

It sounded utterly absurd. Cheshire bit his lip, unable to outright say it seemed strange, and hesitated under the gazes fixed upon him.

Normally, Calix would’ve been the first to point out such nonsense, yet this time he showed no reaction at all.

“It’s often said mercenaries usually learn basic emergency treatment in case of unforeseen situations—would that be right?”

“Rose was relatively small in stature, so she had to rely on wit rather than brute force.”
