While I was momentarily distracted, Raven, who had taken the hairpin from my hand, placed his hands on my head. Carefully choosing the position, he soon heard a clicking sound as the hairpin was secured.
“Just as I thought. It suits you well, Bella.”
“Uh…? Thank you.”
“I’ve always thought that the blue color would go well with your silver hair. Turns out, I was right.”
Wow, this is dangerous.
Why does the face of this little one smiling look so beautiful?
The child who usually seemed to have no idea how to express emotions was now looking at me with a more affectionate smile than ever.
His face was so dazzling that I ended up closing my eyes.
“Raven, I think I’m a bit tired. I’ll go in first today!”
Bang.
As if fleeing, I entered the room, gasping for breath and chose to catch my breath.
I don’t know why my heart is pounding so much when I’ve only taken a few steps.
It was fortunate that Ronya had left her seat for a moment.
Otherwise, she would have undoubtedly teased me when she saw my face turn as red as a ripe tomato.
‘Could it be that I’m fluttered by that little one? Seriously?’
No way.
This is undoubtedly either a divine prank or a side effect of the new potion.
I decided that the latter was a bit more plausible and, with that in mind, promptly threw myself onto the bed.
Sleep is the best medicine, and after a good night’s sleep, any side effects are sure to disappear completely.
“Oh, Princess Bella. Have you already gone to bed? You should wash up and sleep.”
“No. Today, I just want to sleep. I’m extremely tired.”
“You’ve had a long day, so that’s understandable. But you should change into your night clothes. The clothes you’re wearing will surely be uncomfortable to sleep in.”
Unable to resist Ronya’s firm words, I reluctantly got up and changed into my nightclothes. Only then, after meticulous teeth brushing, could I get back under the blanket.
It was strange that I was so meticulous only at times like this, when I usually wandered around carelessly.
“I’ll put out the candles for you, Princess Bella, so sleep comfortably. Have sweet dreams.”
“Yeah. Sleep well, Ronya.”
As the door closed with a creaking sound, fatigue washed over me.
Since I started drinking the potion, my stamina had noticeably improved, but it was only natural to feel tired after running around aimlessly from morning till night.
Nodding off, I soon fell into a deep sleep.
With the hairpin Raven gave me held tightly in my hand.
A few days later.
Around the time my grown body had fully adapted.
While drinking tea with me, Sione suddenly made a proposal.
It was about inviting teachers to Rose Palace to teach me.
“Until now, it was fine with just me, but I think now we need to look for other teachers. Teaching everything, including the qualities needed for royalty, is beyond my capabilities.”
“I like Sione. Isn’t there only that method?”
In fact, I didn’t have much ambition for studying, as I was the type to understand ten things when taught one. Rather than having my time taken away during classes, I thought self-study might be more time-efficient. However, Sione had a different perspective.
“I know better than anyone that Bella is intelligent. In truth, the reason I’m saying this is for a different purpose. It’s to build connections with noble families and aristocrats in advance.”
“So, Sione aims to win over the nobles through education.”
“That’s correct.”
Although I hadn’t noticed it until now, she chose the timing to bring up such matters as late as possible.
Usually, nobles start formal education from the age of 7, but for the royal family, it is common to start classes before turning 5. Some even start reading books before weaning, so I was quite lenient in comparison.
“If you allow me, I will carefully select suitable noble families. Ones that are not politically inclined and can be supportive of you, Bella.”
“I’ll leave that to you, Sione. I trust you.”
“Thank you. I’ll work hard to live up to Princess Bella’s trust.”
After that event, not long passed before new teachers were invited to Rose Palace.
Subjects such as Imperial Studies, Etiquette, Music, Mathematics, and Foreign Languages, among others, would be taught by a total of five teachers.
Chosen by Sione, they had outstanding abilities and backgrounds, and their personalities were beyond reproach.
After about a month of diligently attending classes, most of them seemed fascinated by me.
“To grasp the educational content so quickly is truly impressive. None of the students I’ve taught before were as smart as you.”
“It’s okay to praise me more. I’m already used to hearing such words.”
“Haha, it’s good that you’re confident. But how about this?”
The teacher who taught Imperial Studies, known for being the most difficult among the lessons royal family members receive, was from a highly regarded noble family.
Over two weeks, he had me read an entire thick book that even adults would find challenging, followed by a comprehensive exam covering a wide range of topics.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
