The largest festival of the Tzepes Kingdom, Nyx.

Named after the goddess of the night, this event was one of the most sacred festivals for vampires.

The Nyx festival, with a history spanning over 300 years, was held for about a week, attracting people from all over the kingdom.

The highlight of the festival was the fireworks on the eve, so grandiose that they could be seen from other cities near the capital.

While listening to Sione explain various things as I prepared to go see the festival, I tilted my head at the last part.

“How can the fireworks be so huge? They can even be seen from outside the capital; it’s beyond imagination.”

Grinning as if she had been waiting for this question, Sione answered.

“The fireworks at the Nyx festival are launched by wizards. That’s why they’re much brighter and clearer. It’s known to be the grandest and most dazzling in the continent. It’s one of the prides of the Tzepes Kingdom.”

“Huh. In the empire, they vanish quickly. Fascinating.”

“Are you talking about the Integra Empire? I’ve heard they also have fireworks, but… How did you know that?”

Almost saying that even from the tower they were barely visible, I hurriedly covered it up, saying I had read it in a book.

‘What if she thinks it’s strange?’

Speaking about the empire through my lips was almost the first time, and cold sweat trickled down my back.

But Sione didn’t seem to find it odd and continued her explanation while combing my hair.

“In the empire, human technicians manually produce the fireworks. There are hardly any wizards, and those who are left are ostracized, so magic fireworks are probably impossible.”

“Yep. In the empire, they are very afraid of wizards and demons… I read it in a book.”

I almost slipped and spoke as if I were an imperial citizen.

I thought I had to be careful going forward and laughed awkwardly.

The next moment, Sione blurted out something shocking.

“The empire’s magic hatred is famous. Just recently, one of the imperial princesses was accused of being a witch and was even executed. Turns out she couldn’t wield any magic at all.”

Gasp, is she talking about me?!

I gulped and tried to read Sione’s reactions, fearful that my identity might be revealed. Sweat beads formed on my forehead, and my heart pounded heavily.

Swallowing dryly, I forced myself to maintain composure as the conversation continued.

“Aren’t you mistaken, Sione? She could have really been a wizard.”

“I could be wrong. But even if she was, it’s still the same. To be executed just for using some magic, it’s unimaginable in the Tzepes Kingdom. Only the princess who died unfairly is pitiable.”

From then on, Sione harshly criticized the imperial family that had sentenced me to death.

When she stepped forward to defend me, saying it was undoubtedly a political sacrifice, I almost burst into tears.

Though it’s something that can’t be undone, I felt touched that someone acknowledged the unfairness.

“I’m sorry for bringing up such a dark story on this festive outing. When it comes to magic, I get a little sensitive.”

“It’s fine. Keep talking. I’m interested in the empire.”

“You’re interested in the political situation of the continent already. Truly remarkable, Bella.”

Although Sione clapped in admiration, I responded with a smile, without revealing the real reason.

As a royal just starting to gain recognition, I thought it was premature to declare that I would overthrow the empire soon.

“All your preparations are complete, Bella. Would you like to look in the mirror before we leave?”

“Yes, I’d like to.”
I stood in front of the mirror she had brought, letting out a small exclamation.

“Wow, you really went all out with my look today, didn’t you?”

My hair was braided in a playful style I usually didn’t opt for, suitable for the festive atmosphere. The round, red shoes I wore looked incredibly cute even to me.

Upon donning a short cape with a hood, I looked as charming as a fairytale protagonist.

“You look absolutely adorable! I’m sure you’ll be the most charming child at the festival tonight, Bella.”

“Hehe, thanks. It’s all thanks to Sione.”

“It’s a shame you have to hide your face with the hood. But it can’t be helped. I might be somewhat immune, but others won’t be able to take their eyes off you, Bella.”

Her evaluation seemed a bit generous, but there was some truth in what she said.

Objectively speaking, my appearance was quite cute.

But what mattered more was that, as a member of the Lord family, I had an inherent charm that attracted those of the same race.

Even now, when I’m still young, people around me were overwhelmed. I was looking forward to seeing what would happen once I was all grown up.

After completing all the preparations, Sione and I headed toward where the carriage was parked.

At the stable entrance, there were a shabby-looking carriage as a disguise, Balter, and Raven.

Both were also wearing drab-colored capes with hoods, likely to avoid attracting attention.
